Hello, I'm trying to rip levels from mario sunshine. I've got a rip of the hotel delfino interior, but the uv maps are all weird and need to be rescaled and translated, rotated, and in some cases reprojected to work with the textures. Did I rip the geometry in a bad way? did I use the wrong ripper? I used ninja ripper 1.7.1 with Dolphin 4.0 32 Bit with directx9.
Mario Sunshine uses .szs files and the can be extracted from ISO with Dolphin. Than you can use rarcdump and yaz0dec
http://amnoid.de/gc/ to get raw .bdl/.bmd files that can loaded into Blender 2.79 with
https://github.com/niacdoial/blemd plug in. Also Switch Tool
https://github.com/KillzXGaming/Switch-Toolbox box may be able to get models out of the Dolphin extracted .szs files and save them as .dae files but Switch Tool isn't able to save .bdl/.bmd with rigging intact BUT this isn't a problem for you as you want stages/scenery.

Ok I'll try my best with those directions.
if I'm still confused can we maybe talk in discord or something?
If need be DM me and I do have a discord account.
at this point I'm on a DEATH HUNT for the Strollin' Stu model.
load the szs in switch toolbox and then don't double click (preferably) the BMD/BDL, right click it and there should be an export raw data option, press it and then load that into blender 2.79 with blemd
for the szs, you need to unpack the filesystem in dolphin, so right click the rom, go to properties, filesystem, right click the disc and choose either extract data or extract entire disk
