For games that no longer exist (such as mobile games that have died and are unable to be played) is there any way of uploading sprites for them? I was going to upload a bunch of sprites from Digimon: Heroes! to the spriters' resource that I downloaded. But I saw that it said "If you didn't make or rip the sprites yourself then you aren't allowed to submit them NO exceptions." or something to that effect. And I'm wondering if there would be ANY way of submitting files from Digimon: Heroes! or any other dead mobile games. Since you can't even go beyond the games' menus to play them even if they're fully installed on a phone.
I understand why there'd be this zero tolerance policy since a lack of it would lead to a lot of whiny complaints that they couldn't upload someone else's art. However I'm worried that without some exemption for archive, that it could make this sites' purpose as a resource/archive/education/art forum gets hindered.
