Recently, I have been extracting images and sprites from japanese visual novel Togainu no Chi: True Blood.
I used this method (as the game uses the HuneX engine) and ended up with a bunch of .MZP files. Followed the guide, extracted them, and when I viewed them, I saw some normal sprites, but the majority were extremely small. some were head and body sprites, but that doesn't really bother me. what bothers me most is the tiny sprites. comparison example between a small and a normal sized one:

I looked at the hex code of one of the MZP files, and it started with "mrgd00" so I tried installing and applying "hunex.bms" and it didn't really give me the results I want. It gave out .dat files, and I doubt that is correct ... ? It's probably because it's designed with MRG, not MZP. (or perhaps I'm just using it wrong.)
I am 100% sure they are compressed. but I'm not very sure how to decompress them. I've tried other other ways to rip PSP sprites too, but I used that method, as it directly gives me the sprites.
If anyone is able to help me solve this issue, or give me out other ways I can extract the sprites, I would greatly appreciate it.
I think I might need to reverse-engineer the compression myself, which I'm not too keen to do. But I really want to see the sprites, so maybe I'll try.
I'll link the extracted PNGS for anyone who'd like to see. there's also backgrounds and other cgs too, which suffer from the same problem.
