Full Version: What's the stance on bootleg ports?

For context, I have sounds ripped from various bootleg ports for Super Mario Bros. at the ready, but I haven't submitted them yet because I'm not sure what's the limit on how different the port sounds should be from the original game to be uploaded, if that makes sense. The sounds are more different from the originals than the visuals are, but I'm not sure if, say the TurboGrafx-16/PC Engine port sounds different enough from the NES version to count.

There's also stuff like various Arcade games bootlegged on different Arcade hardware (such as Pac-Man on Galaxian hardware) that have vastly different sounds due to running on different hardware. I imagine those would be labeled something like for example "Pac-Man (Galaxian Hardware, Bootleg)" or something, but again I'm not sure.

I'm kinda new to submitting to the various Resources so I'd thought I ask about this before submitting any bootleg port sounds just in case. (I'm also not sure I'm posting in the right forum, this was the closest I could find that fits my question that was in the Sounds Resource section.)
