Well thought of it as the fact that the front leg is bent inwards and backwards, but because we're looking at it straight on, we onyl the the backwards part. The other one is the same way. We see it get bent backwards, but its also going inwards, which would be towards the screen from mewtwo's position.

I tried some new legs. They're not perfect, but I think they're a good start.
the old floating pose is way cooler. who cares if one leg is further back
The middle one just looks unnatural to me. Especially the background leg. The foreground one looks pretty good, but the placement suggests that he's moving forward.
I think Mewtwo needs a bigger head and smaller body features.
how has nobody come up with this idea

combine 1's badass floating left leg with 2's normal-looking right leg

now you have a 2x badass floating pose

you're welcome
Well, with my leg edit, I was going for this sport of pose with the legs.

If you guys have Brawl, go look at the Mewtwo trophy from a side view. Have him face left and look at the legs. See how the further back one is bent inwards like that? I was going for that sort of look. However, I didn't bend the legs enough. The legs were also flipped in my sprite. Going by the trophy, they should be the other way around. Although that doesn't really matter which leg is up, I tried respriting it to show what I mean.

he's still leaning forward a bit too much; either make him lean back a bit more, or position the right leg forward slightly

Actually, I think he should pull the bent leg in a pixel.
Ok, I pulled the head back a pixel to make him look leaned backwards a bit more. I also pulled the bent leg in a pixel. I also wanted to pull the foot on the unbent leg forward a bit to help with the whole leaning back thing. but it looked kind of weird so I didn't save it.

I think it looks pretty damn good.
Mewtwo's looking really good!

I don't really have any complaints
Very rough idle. The general idea is that he just floats up and down a bit, while his tail wags slowly. Then he blinks, but its not a quick blink. Like he just closes his eyes for a little bit as though he's concentrating. Occasionally his tail does a sort of flick movement and then goes back to wagging.

EDIT: Ok so uploading it sped it up a bit. It should be a little slower than this.
The amr;s thats showing more looks a tad noodley. Also I think some pixels are missing during the tail flick part at his knee, but it may just be how the animating program animated it :/ He also looks like he jerks foward a bit too much when he flicks his tail too.

-edit-

Theflick jerk/pixels missing at the knee part may just be my brower though
I'm guessing you're going to have the legs move a little bit, too, right? Also, I think his tail might be flicking back too much, making it look like an attack, rather than an idle motion. Otherwise though, it's great!

@Crow, he doesn't jerk forward at all...
