But at least it's an improvement on the original shape, which was far from accurate to the game's pose!
Oh and that height comparison with sonic makes no sense. There is Proportionality. The difference in the screenshot , when resized to the sprites is like 1 or 2 pixels. So Try making sonic or Lucario almost the same size.
This one looks much better.

I decided to edit your sprite and show you how you could improve it. The main problem was Shape and the choice of Blue. If it would have been my own style I would have added some black outline , but the smash bros project looks sexy in selective.
Here.
Lucario is a really good character in brawl
Great Contribution !
I like the head but the rest of the body seems really odd.

The left one looks better
I remember that. I actually made the original Lucario sprite looking at screens and videos of the Brawl leak.
Frar, your edits to the anatomy are great and all, but his color is now too pale, and I fixed that with some other things as well:

In the world of your habit of seeing the old one.
Look at Lucario, then check again.

But yeah, it just looks waaaaay to square and small (small, not short). Like he has his nose shoved in a glass cup.
Just compare the brawl screenshot to the original sprite
Try even resizing the screenshot, you'll see
The torso on the first one of those 3 is better than the edits, but everything else in the edits are fine.
Splice the two?
2nd is best. Shading layers are too close together, when they should be a bit farther apart.
I just think this needs to be said, but Lucario's sprite IS the correct height of the sprite. You're comparing the BASE (where height would start) of Lucario's foot with the END (not BASE) of Sonic's Shoe.
If you measure it correctly sonic's foot doesn't start that low, it starts nearer the base, meaning that they are just about righ on the original sprite, and editing for 'height discrepancy' is unnecessary.
Another thing to consider is that they are from different games, their size in comparison to each other will not be exact and it was guesstimated for Brawl, so as long as it's 'close', guesstimating for this project is unnecessary as well.
self explanatory
Aaaand this is the point where following model height guidelines get silly. Look at those models all scaled down. See how lumpy and indestinct they are? that because they're not meant to be that size. By making sprites this size, in order to retain some semblance of detail, we need to bend the ruling of exact height to have it look sensible.
In the actual game, Lucario is slightly taller than sonic. In these sprites, Lucario is slightly taller than Sonic. SO WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL.
Just fix up the pose and make the sheet already. :V
Even though he did it wrong, I do agree with the result. Lucario is too tall compared to Sonic in this.
Might be late but I like Frar's colours better than Rokkan's.
