Here is my first sprites which is a robot from the series FLCL.

Do you have any references?
The light source is pretty inconsistent, and there are unnecessary shades of colour. I'm glad this isn't pillowshaded though
The black outline can go, and you could make the colours a bit less dull.

I'm just beginning to do these kind of sprites and I'm still editing it some more so it isn't shaded and colored right but thanks for the advice.

I'd quite like to see a ref because it would help me say more, which would then help you.
