Who's Nfinity? I'm not a veteran of the spriting scene.

Previous owner of The Shy Guy Kingdom after King Shyguy (can't remember very well it was years ago), large Captain N fan who even had his own fan site and fan comics but sadly wasn't alive when the DVDs came out, his rival was Mark Moore which was referenced in his comics. While he was respected, he did have a strict policy when it came to sprites such as there is no such thing as a 32Bit sprite, believed that MS Paint was not okay (even though it actually is) and such.

Oh well another part of history is lost as in no further updates but at the same time, also preserved exactly the same as N-finity more or less left it unless it is a joke but it doesn't seem like it.

Oh... since I submitted a few sprites there before tSR which should be in that queue, can I request not to put my old rips up? They are either incomplete which they were replaced or already on the site.
I'm all for the merge between the two sites... but the Sprite Sheets there (especially the customs) will obviously need to be reviewed by some of the admins and the well-standing members of the site (A.J. Nitro, Mageker, Ryan913, and other "veterans") to see if they're worthy to be submitted.
Unless, however, Dazz wants the members of TSGK to join here and submit their own works. Either way, it'll take a while to get every good sheet here.
The custom sheets will obviously be reviewed, since standards on the custom work are different here. I wouldn't mind having the members join us here, but that doesn't mean that we're going to lower our standards.
I think most people at TSGK won't be happy with the distribution of content, as the members there differ drastically philosophically from the members here. That said, Web was a great guy. I never talked to Waxy, but he's always been supportive of the spriting scene. Goemar, I didn't care for much at first, but I've grown to respect him very much. I think I speak for the rest of the tSR staff when I say that we'll do our best to treat the work of the members of TSGK with respect and dignity.
People seem to forget that while Web disagreed with the tSR of yore (Bacon's era), he was the first to help whenever something happened. He was something of a friendly rival of tSR's, and I definitely miss him.
This is an April fools joke, because I refuse to believe that the staff team of the largest sprite database on the internet are naive enough to release actual news on April 1st and expect everyone to believe them.

Here's Dazz's message, straight from the staff forums. (Hope he doesn't mind me posting it here.)

It's WaxPoetic of the ill-fated TSGK infamy. I've been talking with Goemar and we're uh... less than satisfied.

Two years ago, when Web passed away, I was offered all the tech help in the world by two really competent guys who could actually understand Web's code. (OracleofWuffing and an irc guy)
Wuffy ended up leaving most likely due to the asshattery of our senior member's constant requests/demands.
The other guy's just way too busy.

A few months ago, Goemar agreed to jump on board and we all thought it was going to be great and awesome and that we'd have your site beat up in no time. Sadly, huge flaws in the code stemming from the move-that-never-was have made this a tricky thing.
We can't even get his damned picture to link up.

My account has full functionality - but as I've been saying for two years, I'm still in way over my head. All I ever wanted (And Web knew this) was to sit in the back row and scribble out some sprites and smile and give suddenly insightful ideas.

So, as I said, Goemar and I've been talking. Goemar wanted to jump to TSGK because he wanted more visibility for his projects. I want TSGK to become active again, but lack the manpower (especially without tech help) to do it.

So the proposition of the century...
How would you like to absorb TSGK and RGZ?
(And if so, how would we go about doing it?)

I'll be on hopefully most of tomorrow (your morning) 7pm EST+ if you'd like to talk or discuss.
I want what's best for the legacy of TSGK.
I'm even willing to let you into the inside of the workings to give you new ideas. Wink

Let me know what you think,
Chris Thomson (WaxPoetic)

I'm thinking this is awesome. Who else does?
Absorbing these 2 sites will create one super resource, and will make us easily the best online sprite site in existance.

The agreement will be fairly simple: We'll take their sheets and have them on tSR, and hopefully we can absorb their userbase too. This will result in a well recieved site, larger than imagineable, and a huge userbase of rippers.
WaxPoetic would become a mod, or an admin. The results are up to you.
I say go for it. Go for the throat.

Technically, Goemar released the news.
That said, I'm finding it's more fun to release truthful stories than lies on April Fools because that way nobody is quite sure what to believe.
It's a definite mindrape, that's for sure.
I'll assume this is true. Nice news! Everything is going a bit too fast for me, though. I almost cannot catch up with how things are running currently! :P
Actually I was thinking about TSK status some weeks ago. When a site don't have some front page update it usually tends to close, specially when it's a site which depends on uploading stuff.
I really think it's a good idea. I remember it was a very good resource for sheets and stuff back on the day, I believe it's a good thing for both sites.
Not sure about merging also the forums, this usually don't work so well but... Who knows?
Merging forums: NO.
Merging sprite sheet content: YES.
We aren't so much "Merging" as "Absorbing" - We will still be tSR, and we will continue to run we still do. If TSGK members want to join tSR, that's fine. But the Captain N forums are not just about TSGK, so people who want to join a spriting site will probably join this one if TSGK is no long talked about at the Captain N forums.
