Everything looks fine except the background, which looks sloppy.

It seems like it would be more of a Wii game

Gotta say I'm fairly impressed with how seamless the characters and text look

but seriously, ditch the background.

I think you changed too much...

I meant change the background, but the characters themselves were perfectly fine.

The text has some pretty tacky effects, and I'm not so sure about that purple cloud. The rest is fine, though I'm not sure why Mario and Yoshi are in a circle of some kind. I think there could be a better way of presenting it. Think more about the use of colour to create depth and highlight certain aspects.
