Actually, i prefer yours. Mine is just a lazy edit of that tree with some recolors. I think we should stick with yours.
Hmm... Lemme try editing that tree a bit. I think i have an idea...
...
Okay, forget that. My edit looks WAY worse than yours.
I've grabbed some titles and i hope that I'll be able to get a more original title than the Seasons/Ages one.
Okay, let's have a little contest, hm?
Rules:
You must take the sky I made and improve it, mainly by adding detail.
You must keep your entry 16-bit
Deadline is...oh say Saturday? That's more than enough time.
A contest, eh?
Normally i would like to enter, but this time I'm in a little pinch (Going on a trip tomorrow morning). But that doesn't stop me from trying. Well, I'd better get working!
But, I still can change the colors, Right?
And should I just add detail to the sky or to the tree too?

But of course you can change the colors, and add more detail to the tree AND sky, and even add some mountains or something in the back if you'd like!
YAY! *imagines* This is gonna be fun.
Imo, Hyrule is a beautiful world but Nintendo has never fully been able to show how it really looks like.

O...kay then.
I just wanna see how this turns out.
Oh hey, when are you getting back from your trip?
Probably tomorrow night. (Well it's probably more of a visit than a trip.) Maybe around 6 PM (GMT 0:00) or something like that.
Also, i forgot that it ain't Hyrule I'm supposed to sprite, it's Holodrum...
Though, I'm happy that they have not done about 7 different Holodrum/Labrynna's like they've done with Hyrule.
...
Geez, no matter how much I do I just can't point out what's bothering me about this.
I think it's the leafs that's bothering me... Lol, you've already won this competition!
I may not even enter.
Though I'd still like to see your entry.
Oh yeah, I'm also expanding this to DA as well.
Sounds good, then we might get some help with this.
Also, my shading starts to get bland (As I told you, I suck at bushy things). And i think I've gone over the 16-bit limit. I'm not very good at ?-Bit thingies; I just choose a number and start spriting.
Looked through some things on how to know how many bits I've sprited and I only have 12 bits so far it seems.

16-bit is 16 colors.
Either way I think we can manage something with it.
I've been working like nuts now and I think I'm pretty much done with my entry.
That Tree-trunk of mine looks horrible. Next up: the main title.
Hey SC, you do know you have only 13 colors?
If I were you, I'd try making the top of the sky blend smoother with some dithering or something.

Right in the lower-middle section of the tree trunk you make a very nice trunk-texture; it's a pain in the neck, definitely, but spreading that out across almost all of the tree will make the trunk look much better.
The overall problem is that everything (with the exception of a few areas) looks too scribble-y and rough. Take the trunk, for instance: The shades you have around the trunk texture looks really sloppily done.
On the treetop, what makes it looks bad is the inconsistent dithering. Dithering doesn't have to be perfect 50-50 pixels, of course, but at the very least establish a fading pattern and stick with it.
There are some stray blue pixels in the lower-right-most cloud. The clouds, by the way, aren't bad, they just need to be smoother, by way of dithering or another shade. The left-most of the three center clouds (the one with three 'tails' on its right end) needs a lot of help with its outline (it doesn't look like a cloud right now), but other than that the clouds are pretty good.
Thanks for the help.
I know i were sloppy. I just didn't have enoguh energy to sprite it better. (it was like 2 in the morning)
Those darkest shades of the trunk were just a "base" for me to work on. I were too tired to redo it.
That middle-lower section is actually pretty easy to make. I just grabbed a pencil and doodled a bit, then touching it up not to make it look like I edited it into a simple color-sketch-thing.
Anyways, now that I am filled with enough energy (Weird since I only slept about 20 minutes) I'm gonna try improving a little bit.
...
Oh... SH*T! Water + mouse = Hooray... (please excuse my swearing, It's a habit.)
I'm afraid i have to leave this competition until it is dried or i can find another mouse. (working with a touchpad sucks)
In the meanwhile i just have to wait...
Gone and back from trip. It seems my mouse has dried up a bit but I'm not going to take that risk.
Try a hairdryer. That works with books and ipods and gameboys.
