Not sure what to do with Sam's arms yet.
Thinking about enlarging Max's ears a bit more.

Suggestions please.

Max is missing hands in case you didn't notice
doing hands on this small scale is difficult

Max isn't standing out too well. Either make his white a bit darker or have a colored background. Either way, they're both good.

sam and max season 1 is selling at target for like 5 dollars
should I buy it

Regarding the sprites, I think the foremost priority would be darkening Max.

although I can see him perfectly well

Is it me or is Max's body a bit big?

... or simply don't work on a white background.
Max's ears and feet seem a tad small.
