How about we have some sort of achivement system?
Ad in a badge you get for submitting 1 sheet, another if you submit 10 and so on....
Or are is that too childish and pointless?:p
I think that due to the nature of the forum this isn't a good idea. It would make people feel like they should submit something, even if they're not a ripper. Also ripping stuff is supposed to be voluntary, as in you should be doing it for personal enjoyment and for others to enjoy, not for badges or whatever.
In my opinion, anyway.

What are sprite duels?
puggsoy's right on.
Also, a sprite duel is something like
this, where one person makes a thread, challenging someone else to sprite against them in a mini-competition of sorts to see who is superior. There are also rules, like any duel, and they are set by the challenger I think. But of course most sprite duels won't be a SUPER EPICLY HUGE EVENT like that one was.
Ask star and ridge to start them off again, if they're not busy.
I'd compete in a sprite duel, possibly
I'd probably be better, if each competitor of the duel was of similar skill, so one wouldn't have too great of an advantage over the other, but that doesn't mean we should deny people with different skill levels the right of dueling each other.
My Two Cents, before they go into the vending machine.

An example: I couldn't be in a competition against Star or Ridge Troopa.
We all know I'd win
I apologize if this has been suggested before, but a donation button might work to replace some of the more annoying ads.
alternatively, perhaps a method to show a bunch of ads when this pops up:
Ads need to load; so that'd provide nothing.
And nobody is going to donate. We had a donate button and in 8 years we generated about £200.
Just so you know I would donate at least $5 if I managed my own money. Once I do (in about a year or two) I'll get it to you straight away
Honestly, most of my money is spewed down the drain for my semi-expensive hobbies and collecting, Though, I will try to cut back a little, so I can donate some cash some time soon.
Some kind of collectable on the forum wouldn't be so bad, like getting coins for every thanks you get and for every submission.
Keeps it abit fresh in my opinion.
Also, how did TSR get into financial troubles like as of now?

AdBlocker + slightly less activity on the site.
That but I think less people have been visiting the site.
That sucks. How can we bring people back? I think teaming up with some other fan communities or even YouTube personalities might be helpful. Maybe Dazz can get in at Normal Boots and make his own series based on spriting/modeling/whatever?
