If this post comes off as being incredibly negative, It's because I've lost some faith in TSR.
You've taken something that was working perfectly and went a step backwards by breaking it.
This whole bunch of website elements that function together as an "Automatic Game Icon Generator" is inferior to what we had before.
I won't trust something that doesn't even work properly because it is of Questionable Convenience.

Just because they decided to change the font a bit doesn't mean that they're "hypocrites" or that it's a "double standard".
Also, the font doesn't appear oversized whenever I browse The VG Resource, it appears perfectly fine for me, dunno why it's oversized for you.

OH MY GOD. The Font was oversized because I was using Google Chrome.
How embarrassing...
Apparently, the Font Element is affected by the type of Browser that you're using.

Maybe looking into it a bit more next time?

Actually, it was oversized because you were using a cached version of the stylesheet. In reality, it actually works perfectly in Chrome as well. CTRL + F5 a couple of times and you should see it fix itself in Chrome for you too.
As for the rounded corners, they definitely serve a purpose but that won't be entirely clear just yet. Suffice it to say, for now, that it helps give them an intentional appearance as an individual item instead of just a grid of images.
These changes aren't of "questionable convenience" - they make the site operate much more smoothly and also take a significant burden off of submitters. With the old system, everything had to be done correctly right from the get go. The font needed to be the right size and face, positioned in the right place, and on a correctly set up background. Now, all you have to do is crop an image and upload it. It means less mistakes for you and less unnecessary edits for us. This, among other benefits, were covered in the new icon announcement thread.

Pardon my Traditionalist Attitude. I've been gone from TSR for 3 Years and never knew about these changes until now.
Part of the reason for my dislike of this New System is that the Old Style Game Icons that I had already made are, apparently, useless now.

I'm afraid so, but more that they served there purpose and are being replaced. If you want to submit new images for us to implement instead of the ones that we made, that's fine too.

You mean Old Stlye Game Icons are still acceptable?
05-24-2014, 06:35 PM
No. I think he assumed you were referring to icons that were already on the site which have since been replaced and mentioned that you're welcome to provide alternate images for them if you don't like what was chosen.
Going forward, new submissions will require the new format so if you have anything you haven't submitted yet, yes, those icons will need to be remade.

I know this may have been mentioned before, but could you please change the color of links in order to easily distinguish them from regular text?
Crappy Blue Luigi showed me that some skins actually do have a distinguishable link color, so just now I had a look through different skins. The default/TVGR skin distinguishes them just fine (makes them blue), but other skins (TSR, TMR, TSoR, TTR) merely use a blackish color that's not very different from the regular text color.

Yup I brought that up on the previous page or so:
However, I have yet to see a change because TTR's theme still has the grey link color. :p

This is what it looks like for me on The VG Resource skin:
That's really weird because I was using the TTR theme and now the TSOR and both have hardly distinguishable link text:
It's just kind of easy to miss links for me.

Could it be made so that when a page loads the top of the page is under the new header at the top? Whenever I load a post I have to scroll up in order to actually see what it says because the header is covering it :I
05-25-2014, 02:42 PM
That's an error actually, Petie is fixing it soon.
edit: or maybe not? Seems its not supposed to be for the main sites.

I'm not sure I follow. Can you post a screenshot? You may also want to CTRL + F5 a couple of times. While making it so the top bar is fixed to the top of the screen, I updated the stylesheet a couple of times and you may be on a cached incomplete version.
