Flare Wrote:I know tSR is not a database of such but I guess that it takes up the same amount of space as a database would. So it is almost like it is running two databases as such. It certainly runs alot of requests and data transfer.
That's even less true. Databases run in different software. Sure they take up space as well, but the databases don't use the same memory space as the PHP-only files. You can't even call these files databases, since for one they're scattered, and they don't have the proper formatting to be called database.
But I do have to agree that switching forums will not make a huge difference. If there's a function for SMF that's not in this one, there will always be the possibility to mod.

Hahaha
that would be hilarious.
A custom sprite section on site where people can make there own sprites not to do with games
TSR already has custom sections pertaining to each major franchise. Also, nearly all sprites (because HUD and other elements can be included) in a 3D game's section will have custom sprites. Take a look around.
I think he is meaning for sprites that are not in game related things which I doubt we will ever have because its in the rules that they don't accept them and really who would want sprites of own fan characters?
That is what I meant Flare
We won't accept personal or fan character sprite sheets onto tSR. Who else but you will think that they are cool? No one. If you want you can put your personal character into the Ref topic however.
Tri, we're as cracked down on swearing as we'll be. Mainly it's fair game so long as it's not going far out of the way to be overly offensive. You see there's a difference between.
"What the fuck, why?"
and
"What the fuck, get the hell out of the forum, you stupid son of a bitch, your mother should've aborted you and..." so on and so forth. So basically, cussin' is fine so long as you're not a jerk about it more than poking light fun at each other.
Furthermore, I propose the removal of polls altogether. After all, most of the time people who post in polls go on to post in the topic to explain their opinion, thus making the point of a poll, which is a quick answer when you don't have time, utterly useless.
I agree with the above post
Polls should be removed
Yes I agree completely with the above post. And tri you make it seem as if all this board does is swear.
I disagree. Just block adding polls for regular members, and only staff can make polls.
This way it would be easier for moderators and administrators to question people without bothering going trough all the posts, like on contests. Imagine having to go trough 100 posts.
I second Gary's suggestion. Don't strip polls out entirely. Make it a moderator/administrator power only.
whats the point of a staff made poll
it has the same effect fuck
The staff sometimes needs to make tough decisions. Letting about a hundred people give their opinion is great and all, but going trough all these hundred posts isn't really worth their time. And that is when you assume everybody is just going to post once in the topic.
