For me at least, ripping is just a way to waste free time. And I rip from games that I like and that I always tought that should've been ripped already. If I get bored of ripping, I move into other things, then I get back to it when I feel like it.
Strange how taking a break equals more ripping but at least I enjoyed ripping them. Oh well.

I know you might be thinking why I have ripped a board game, well ripping it was enjoyable. As for the game it isn't bad but there are a couple of flaws, one is that many questions are either 1950s-1980s pop culture with the latest question being set in 1990 (despite the game was released in 1992 but it is a port of the 1988 Deluxe version) so most people would have to ask their parents for the answers, second is that some questions are very English such as local geography, radio shows and politics which meant that unless you live in the UK you have no chance to answer them (while I can answer the local geography questions but not the BBC Radio shows or 1980s Conservative politics questions) and lastly there are some music questions were it plays a tune and you would have to guess what it is. Well some people are deaf or tone deaf (erhmm) so they won't be able to answer the question plus that with the Master System sound chip being limited on what it can produce and it seems a bit buggy, it is better to skip them questions. You can cheat at the game though by either searching online or just press yes at every question.

I always seems to rip these Formula 1 games somehow.

The game is quite good but could be a bit better.

Mega Turrican (Genesis)

Here we go, now we are talking. As people might know, Mega Turrican is a good game to the point of some people calling it the one of the best on the system (also showing off some effects like rotation [the Gunstar Heroes type] and shadow and highlight that aren't often used in games) and I have enjoyed playing it all the way to the end. After spending a good few hours just on the turrets alone, I think that I deserve a day off for ripping a classic while enjoying ripping it.

Also a fact: Mega Turrican took ages to be released on the console (I don't know whether this game or Gunstar Heroes were the first to have rotating segmented sprites, they were developed roughly the same time but Gunstar was released first) and it was published by Sony in Europe. That's right Sony (not Sony Imagesoft who did publish on Sega and Nintendo consoles), I wonder if people from this generation will give weird looks that Sony once published games from other companies that became their competitors.

This has his palette fixed as well as having the other palettes (Stage 1 dark, Stage 2 underwater and the Stage 3 Shadow + Highlight).
Well, the way I see it is, it really doesn't matter whether it's a board game or a cruddy fighting game, it's still one of the many many games out there to be ripped and it's awesome that you're ripping ones that would surely be forgotten about. TSR's goal is to rip everything possible from every official game possible and we're all working towards the same thing. We'll never be able to rip everything but we all try to get what we can and they're all games anyway so they should get ripped anyhow even if they're bad. Smile

TLDR: Doesn't matter if it's a board game or just plain crappy, I think pretty much all games deserve ripping regardless if it seems useless. Very nice, that Saul sheet is your biggest one in a while. Big Grin

It made sense for the SNES since Sony was working on the CD attachment that ultimately became the Playstation. I am surprised they published for Sega though.

Holy crap Wolf Child. Haven't seen that game in a loooooong time.

I'm surprised that sometimes localisations of games add a touch that makes it more unique, even more surprising to have a female boss from that era.

The original game looks like it is starting to show its age but this sequel doesn't seem to be as known (but the ones that do know really enjoy it). I found to be really playable and fun especially from an American made console game from 1994 where sometimes they are either bland or unplayable and usually didn't have the quality that Japanese and European developers had. This is a licensed game yes but it has a bit of mindless violence especially with Grant killing everything that he sees whether it is a human or a dinosaur. It's a shame that it gets glitchy near the end of the game to the point where I have to restart the stage. Then again BlueSky software seemed to be always under pressure making games in small development cycles, sometimes even working on two games at once.

It took quite a while for the rip but it's worth it.
Very nice!

I really enjoy playing this game, first saw it in an arcade but didn't play it until MAME started emulating it but sadly it still isn't emulated correctly [so it is just single player only due to the link option not working and a few glitches such as mostly missing music and that the graphics aren't quite right]. I see it as an evolution of the arcade motorbike racing games (starting with Hang-On, Super Hang-On, this and later getting towards Manx TT and MotoGP). The SNES version despite having more stuff has a weird Mode 7 fisheye view that makes it disorientating plus the collision detection in that version to me makes it hard to play. No, I'm not saying Mode 7 racers are bad. F-Zero, Super Mario Kart and some others are good, it's just that this game works better by using scaling.

Anyway, this is going to end up possibly being a larger rip than I thought. There are 5 bikes (4 that are player controlled via service mode, one is CPU controlled) and there's a lot of palettes within each bike (Day, Late Afternoon, Early Evening, Late Evening, Early Night [them 4 timelines fade into each other from the middle of Lap 2 to the end of Lap 3 and the palette changes where you are in the course] and Night). Also each bike has around 200 colours for the sprites meaning it would be very hard to replace the palette.

This game seems to be a bit of a classic for some so I thought that I start (also the game uses a similar engine to TechnoClash given that they were from the same developers). The sheet that is on TSGK (http://tsgk.captainn.net/?p=showgame&t=sy&sy=7&ga=236 ) is actually from the SNES version and not the Genesis version.

Pretty advanced for the console.

As for what might appear next, I'll be finishing off the Genesis version of Double Dragon 2 and hopefully a couple of other things too.
I could never get Shadowrun down. I was horrible at it.
Same here Ton.

The CPU only bike that rarely appears in game (but always appears in the attract mode).

Double Dragon II - The Revenge (Genesis)

[Image: ieXzg.png][Image: l2WNb.png]

These two are head swaps of each other with a different palette (like Ryu and Ken from Street Fighter). There's just Roper left and not only this game is done in terms of characters but also the Double Dragon trilogy on the console too.
