okay=horrible and annoying?

it has bad level design, humorously bad enemy design, an incredibly poor and shoddy story execution (and plot as well, if what I've heard is any indication), forgettable music
the list goes on~

oh, hey guys
remember how i kept saying the game was gonna suck

WELP
you have to consider that giz doesn't like any of the metroid games that isn't super metroid, and that he has ridiculously high standards. literally nobody else has (or notices) these kinds of problems, lol.

oh, you're right
forgot that for a second
Just finished my 100% run today.

Other M is in the same league as Fusion and Prime 3; an awesome game, it just seems to suck as a Metroid game because it deviates too far from the divine realm in which Super and Prime reside.

Biggest gripes were it being too easy, linear, and cutscene/action driven like I expected, but I have to say I was really impressed with the controls. They were a LOT better than what I was expecting. the combat was pretty out there for a Metroid game, but it worked well and was fun enough.

Samus's VA and personality were really bad. The way they handled the upgrades through authorization made no sense and was duuumb. I was also upset how MB felt like she was just thrown in last second..

Overall, it's probably my least favorite Metroid game besides Hunters, but I still love it.

Why does Samus need approval or need to be reminded to use Varia Armor, an armor that, might I add, not only protects you from fire damage, but reduces ALL types of damage? What purpose does that serve not being able to use that from the start (in a storyline perspective).
you're arguing an invalid point

that's how its always been in metroid, it makes sense because THATS HOW ITS ALWAYS BEEN not because it would logically be like that
OH SHIT GIANT MONSTER GO GET EM SAMUS
...BUT UM YOU CAN ONLY USE YOUR WEAKEST WEAPONS BECAUSE I DUNNO LOL

but i was ok with Samus losing all of her upgrades because of bumping into a wall in Prime. so eh

edit: The only game in which losign and receiving weapons made any real sense is Fusion
editedit: and Prime 2.. kind of.
I always like to think of it this way:

Samus goes to an alien planet and thinks that it's gonna be a breeze. It clearly is not, but she is too lazy to go back to her ship to get her stuff, so she shoots open rocks that happen to have the exact same equipment. Big Grin
nevermind ignore what i just typed
imgay didnt see your post
Logic aside, I'd rather seek out and find the weapon or power I need. I really don't care why she doesn't have said weapon I just want to find it, not unlock it via cutscene.
looks bad

might get it if i ever get a wii and its cheap though
I've 100%'d Other M now.

Fusion is a fantastic game and so is metroid prime (1)
I also like zero mission and 1, but thats just kind of a passing "like". they're not great like super is.
Quote:Oh and Giz if you think the enemy design for this game is bad then you must think the enemy design for Super Metroid is bad too because most of the enemies are from Super Metroid.
this is must be a joke
other m's designs are so much more goofy than supers

its not a matter of waht elements are present (at laest, in some cases), but rather how the enemy is portrayed and rendered, how its executed

only from a gameplay perspective. if you actually look at the context, it makes no sense; she hasn't used varia suit in the past for a portion of the game, because she hasn't had it; she has to find it and discover it. here, however, iirc, she "has" it, it just has to be authorized. the context is retarded.

This is official Super Metroid artwork. They look exactly the same as they did in Other M.
