Double dash is and always has been the best.

NO. No. This is not Super Smash Bros. Brawl, this is not some huge fucking game franchise orgy. It's Mario Kart.

The only time that I know of where a character from another game franchise appeared in a Mario Kart game was in the arcade version with Pac Man, but if I recall correctly it was only because Namco helped create the game or something, so his appearance is validated. They're not just going to go "HUR DUR I LIKE THIS CHARACTER SO LETS THROW HIM IN EVEN THOUGH HE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANYTHING"

They need to not make the item system retarded. I don't know about how it worked in the Wii version, but in the DS version it was set so that only the players that were doing terrible got the good items, and the players in the top three positions only got a mix of green shells, red shells and bananas. Make the item system random, you shouldn't reward people for sucking and you shouldn't punish people for doing well. Random items makes the game way more interesting compared to the way they had it in the DS version.

I can't think of anymore characters they really need. Just as long as they keep Rosalina, I was happy to see her get added to the newest game.

I fail to see why everyone says MArio Kart 64 is the best one ever. I enjoyed Double Dash way more.


Also Mario Kart Wii is fun because of the Wi-fi. That's about it.
mk64 was cool and so was double dash
mkds got annoying at times but it was cool too
i haven't played mkwii

Oh please. The moment tracks like Baby Park showed up in MKDS it became painfully clear how much looser the handling was in DD.

Every single MK game was luck incarnate, not to mention that DD brought some of the most annoying item changes to the series. Its explosive Blue Shell can go fuck itself too.
Also bring back specials. It made it so you could actually get good items in first.
Honestly I don't give a damn what's in the next Mario Kart as long as there's something innovative coming. Double Dash!! brought co-op racing in addition to the standard competitive racing. MK DS brought online play. MK Wii brought bikes and stunts. Maybe the next game needs a stunts/freestyle mode? Hell, how about a track builder so you could make your own tracks?
Lets face it, diddy kong Racing was Waaaay better, bigger and BAWstatic.

Haha, Diddy Kong Racing.. best game in history. Anyways, have any of you guys recently played the original? I played it not too long ago, and I thought it was complete shit...

It was awesome when there was only the N64 version out, but now it just sucks.

Double Dash was the best because of the controls. Fucking owned at that game.

Mario Kart Wii was actually not too bad. Getting World Records is hard though. Those damn people that play like 24/7 on a single level..
Diddy Kong racing was considerably good despite the fancy gimmicks of planes and hovercrafts, but back on topic:

MKDD was one of the good mario karts despite major changes within the item system (Which i'll admit it was only decent because of the special items), and I'll be honest they should bring back some of the items like the big banana and heart sheild

MKDS was decent but the item system was annoying if you were in first

MKWii is decent, but with the lack of free for all battle and the item system flaws caused it to be the weakest game play mechanics of all mario kart
smk for the snes is cool too
well duh, thats because it started everything

hell if anything the next item system should be just like SMK's system to begin with
