Got 9.999.999 coins just now in NSMB2.
Gold Rush is pretty much useless now and Coin Challenge A is a waste of time because the leaderboards are tainted by the 30000 scores.
The only DLC pack still worth its money is Nerve Wrack, which is remains a challenge no matter to what degree you think you've mastered it. The final cannon level does add a fair amount of unfair-ness: Collect a decent amoint of coins in the first 2 stages, fall into the abyss in the third because you held the A button 10 ms too long/too short. I'll have to accept 10000+ is a good enough record and that I should not focus on the coins and just go for the goal. I can't get more than the MAX 9.999.999 coins anyway.
I hope the following DLC batches are more creative, introduce previously unobtainable items and doesn't cram the stages with coins so you end up with 7500+ at the end of the first stage, making collecting coins in the following stages redundant. I have my fingers crossed for a stage akin to Bowser's Airship, which is a 2-part airship stage for SMA4. An airship stage divided in 3 stages (which is standard for Coin Rush), with a boss at the end of each stage would be super awesome. Also capefeather. Anything to make the 9.999.999 milestone less of a dead-end.
