I like plot twists if they're actually mind blowing. If its a predictable "I am your father" twist it bothers me. The entire game in tales of symphonia I was thinking
just say kratos is his father, just say kratos is his father

yeah, that's always irritating

In the very beginning of GTA: Chinatown Wars, there's this cool girl you meet that shows you how to fight and shoot and kill stuff
you guys go to do a mission, and as she's walking to your car, she gets shot up in a rage inducing death
I was like WHAT NO SHE WAS COOL
but whatever

Tales of Symphonia 2 had so many twists and turns i felt dizzy by the point where Emils backstory is finally explained.
The first game though yeah it seemed pretty obvious. OH IVE ONLY BEEN PLAYING FOR 5 HOURS AND IM GONNA REGENERATE THE WORLD ALREADY? I DONT BELIEVE THAT, IT'S TOO SOON!
I like games that change the course part way like the Legend of Zelda games. In the beginning of OoT your after the three gems then BAM! The story changes now you're an adult looking for the sages.
I don't like it if they keep changing it a million times. Just once is nice.
I like games that deviate from the basic plot idea.
(lol Majora's Mask and the Oracle games)
I'm tired of Boohoo Brown and Gunmetal Grey in video games

lolling at the veiled "majora's mask is better" post

personally I think ages was much better though

oh and this
so much this
1. brown
2. bloom
3. blur
next gen HD at its finest
Yeah, Ages was definitely better than Seasons. Both were excellent though.
also, @ Majora's Mask post; <______<
I just liked the fact that it had two entire hyrules (labrynnia, whatever) in it, while seasons had one hyrule (aem, holodrum) and subrosia which was tiny compared to the overworld.
That, ans ages had a better story
and music
etc
not that seasons was bad or anything though
don't get me wrong, it was great
ages was just infinitely better
I think most Zelda games deviate from the first plot.
The plots are different but the premise is the same; Zelda's in trouble and Link's here to save the day.
MM and the Oracle games were a nice change of pace.
I'm starting to hate Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth for omitting a HUD. I understand it's part of the "immersion," but for the love of Christ, you'd think they could have at least tried to do something that notifies you of a crippled limb without having to pause first.
I mean, why not a little red blur at the corner of the screen? Lower left for my left leg, lower right for my right leg, straight at the sides for my arms, and up for my head? Wouldn't that have worked?

I would spout my adoradtion for Link's Awakening here, but that would not be polite.
I like my games to have a good plot which doesn't contradict itself a million times. I remember I used to like Final Fantasy VII, now I can only enjoy it if I completely forget how abused its become.
I am sick of games being incredibly easy. On the flip-side, I find games which are disturbingly difficult to be annoying opposed to enjoyable. It could just be me, but I don't like my enemies making new orifices in my body because there aren't enough to go around as is...
I like a challenge. I dislike Annoyance masquerading as Challenges however.
I like a plot twist. Assuming its relevant and its not obvious from a mile off.
I like online games giving me more people to play with. Then I remember the average IQ of these players is 1 and I revert to using AI party members, who's AI sadly is only 2. But hey, its twice as good as the alternative atleast.
