ANIME AND MANGA SUPERSTARS
Jump Superstars(and Ultimate Stars) is the Super Smash Bros of the anime world. So far it is only limited to the Shonen Jump series of manga/anime and this is what I'm hoping this project will change.

-PROJECT GOAL-
I'm hoping on setting the foundation for an Anime/Manga Superstars game(even if it is just a fangame) using the brilliant style of JSS/US using characters from nearly every anime you can think of. I also need a lot of help with it. I'll be working on a number of the sprites as well to the best of my abilities but my skills are still... Uh, developing. I have been able to create a few initial sprites myself though when it came to the process of animating I tended to screw up a lot.

RULES

Rule 1: It must be in the Jump Superstars/Ultimate Stars style.
Rule 2: The sprites moves of each character must fit the actual anime character you're basing it on.
Other than that, go mad as long as its in character for the character.


This is how I’m going to work this:
Character, Anime/Manga, Creator, Complete/WIP
Forget the poll, awesomeness will be complimented because it's so awesome.

There are two different kinds of characters in JSS/JUS. You get Help Komas who appear and perform a single move or action and you get the Playable Characters. This project focuses more on making playable characters though Help Komas will be accepted, just post them as that.

Hmmm... L has those kicks which look pretty strong and Light has at least some martial arts training(scenes when L and Light fight each other) I think I'll work on that tonight.

Well, there was that tennis episode and that capoeira(sp?) episode.

He still didn't run like that.

Like L would run, he'd have watari push him in his chair.

But the tennis and Capoera was a good idea...

Eh whatever. I decided to give Link from the Oracle of Ages/Seasons mangas a try.

Yup! Of course, especially if the quality is as good as that! I hope you sheet it. Manga is as much an art style as a type of comic and Link has been featured in many official art works in mangaesque style so it should be fine.

I see your point in a way but one must remember that L is lazy but far from weak and slow. He is probably the most athletic character in DeathNote. My original idea was to have him run with his hands in his pockets but that proved to be akward.


This is a simple recolour and minor edit but it still feels right, it's Goku in his GT gi.


This is my work on Uub so far. I'm basing his look closely on that from the GBA game DragonBall:GT Transformation.
