I have no idea how I did it, but at level two I was in megaton and somehow killed BOTH the sheriff and Jericho, took their guns, and killed everyone in town. It was amazing.
But I didn't save because good karma.
ALSOOOOO the guy who wants you to blow up megaton
as soon as I walked in the bar I headshotted him from across the room and my karma went up and nobody cared that he was dead
so I took his suit and saved the game
Mr Burke is not an actual resident of Megaton.
Should take Lucas Simms to detain him...
I am annoyed that Moriarty isn't technically evil, even though he treats the town like crap and is a total control freak. I blew his head off with a victory rifle and lost Karma. I mean come on, I just wanted Gob to be free...
moriarty annoyed me
he tried to make me go get drugs for caps
but then I save scummed until my speech worked and he told me where my dad was anyway
Okay, I'm on the quest You Gotta Shoot 'Em in the Head, and I blew Mr. Tenpenny's stupid head clean off. But stupid Mr. Crowley would only give me 25 caps.
What the hell.
Explode or Dismember?
I don't remember the details of that quest's requirements exactly. All I remember is that Mr. Crowley started stalking me...
If Crowley's targets die by headshot, you get 100 caps. If by any other manner or if you obtain the keys in a nonviolent manner, you get 25 caps.
Tenpenny's head came off, but so did a bit of his leg. But the death was by headshot, why shouldn't that count?
wait a second
you killed him with a headshot
but his leg came off

Welcome to Fallout 3's beautiful vice. Also apparently NONE of the Perks relating to "Aim better in VATS" actually do anything, which is abit of a pain.
I dunno, my ability to hit things in VATS seemed to increase tenfold when I picked up the Commando perk.
They might have fixed it since I last cared to check it. I mostly ended up using VATS only to have all damage reduced to 10%. It was how I got through some stupidly high damaging parts of the game without any Strength or Endurance
The think I really like about this game is that you can pretty much kill anything at level 1. You just have to be skilled enough to do it.

All I can say is that you killed him wrong. You need to get Mister Sandman and kill him while he's sleeping, that way there is no Karma loss.
