Maybe something like that will happen where once you beat the Pokemon League, you'll find Prof. Birch somewhere in the game and he'll give you the Hoenn starter depending on your starter. For example, if you chose Cyndaquil he'll give you Treecko. The Hoenn starters weakness depends on your starter's type.
That would be cool.
If you do this nobody would have Mudkip.
Be it stated that Chikorita is the lamest starter of all time. Torchic can evolve to Blaziken, but Chikorita evolves to Meganium, which is still lame
p.s. new users: anyone who quotes my first phrase of this post to do that joke will probably recieve a rain of downreps from pretty much everybody from tSR
Aww but I like Chikorita and it's evos. :<
Even if it's weak to like every single gym in Johto.
Chikorita was a cute potato... That's mine I guess.
Torchic can digivolve to Blaziken, this makes Torchic the worse starter there is.
Chikorita is fine, Meganium is cool
Any Pokemon can be good depending on how you train it.

nigga you best be trollin.
no combusken and blaziken are great
but torchic is garbage
besides, infernape is the superior fire/fight.
combusken is ugly, and blaziken owns but is inferior to Infernape in pretty much every way
No, not in every way, just speed. They're pretty much even otherwise, and one can be substituted for the other if you're not seeking opimisation.
I prefer Blaziken.
Blaziken learns Sky Uppercut and Blaze Kick. Infernape doesn't.
Yes plz.
Infernape can easily learn blaze kick through breeding.
and he learns close combat, best fighting move and is way more effective than sky uppercut, while blaziken doesnt.
yes plz.
theyre even otherwise but infernape has a more useful movepool and better speed, i mean cmon, grass knot.
