Well it would be better to go a little forward into the future. Really it won't make sense to use the old ones when the new ones are coming out. Even if they weren't coming out then we still would've revamped them in our own way. So there is your answer.

I made some koopas out of yoshi:

I really don't see the need to have Koopas be Yoshi edits. Besides they'd need to be smaller.

You've gotten better at spriting/editing since last time!

But it needs to be smaller. Yoshi is pretty big compared to some enemies.

Lower its beak, raise its arms, and align its nostrils. And let its tail go/point a bit downward.
