(found on this sheet) Not only is it cooler than him being maskless, Meta Knight would never willingly take off his mask. Maybe make it so that if he takes enough damage in a single hit or something, it breaks off and stays off until he dies and respawns.

This.
Exactly this.
plus maskless really just looks stupid
It's like the third time I am saying this, but he can take off his mask in a taunt. Like, he leans back, like he took a hit from something, and his mask is cut in half. When maskless, he can use the same taunt to disappear and then re-appear with the mask.

Also, Samurai Meta-Knight is nothing iconic or too different from his normal design, so I say no to that.
I do not agree with any form of maskless Meta Knight unless it were to happen in the adventure mode if you had to fight him and he lost. Meta Knight is fine without an alt costume, but whatever works.
I figured that if he had an alt, it'd be that galactic knight guy. Then again, they are different people.

Well let's see here...

No cape or shoulder pads
Wears sandals not boots
Has a samurai hairdo
Mask paint
No eyes

Seems pretty different to me!

Still has the same colour scheme, and when looked at a first glance, you can't just tell the difference right away.

Different costumes would be like the difference between Biker Wario and Classic Wario, Dr.Mario and normal Mario, Power Suit Samus and Fusion Suit Samus, things like that.
We can make his mask a little more purple like it is in the game if you want...

Meta Knight is blue in Smash Bros. The sprite of his Samurai costume has him purple.

Besides, it's either that or nothing. :/ There isn't anything else to use.

Exactly my point. Goddamn, do we really have to put costumes on every character? Ugh. It'll make the game too unnecessary bulky, and why would we add costumes that from a distance doesn't have almost no difference in design? Seriously.
cause those are the easiest ones to make?
