Quote:i think that this is like a remake of the old megaman brought back to life and i beleve it comes out late 2008 or late 2009 i can't rember what X-play said
If you can't remember or don't know any of the details please don't bother posting
btw X-play isn't necessarily a great source of information; particularly if you can't tell the difference between parody and true information~~~
Title changed, seeing as how it's not a rumor.
At first, I absolutely hated the idea of this game.
But, after Plying Megaman 2 and 3 for a few hours, I gained hope. =D

Preview of Mega Man 9
Story: Dr. Wily has managed to convince the populace that it was really Dr. Light behind the Robot Masters. There are even "Dr. L" emblems right outside Robot Master doors in Mega Man 9. Mega Man knowing it's really Dr. Wily behind it all sets out to get the bottom of things to prove his creator's innocence and save the day.
Robot Masters: There is a small listing of various hazards Mega Man will encounter in the Robot Master stages.
Shop System: It's back. Buy stuff to help Mega Man fight for everlasting peace! You can even ditch Mega Man's helmet and play the game without it.
Music: Currently the Select and Power-Up Screens have the same themes as Mega Man 2's Select and Power-Up Screen.
Advanced Moves: No word if the Mega Buster (enables charge shots) and sliding will return in Mega Man 9.
Rush: He's back. Rush Coil is available to Mega Man to help him leap high into the sky. Other Rush modes are still unknown.
More information may come out at e3.

Interview with Kenji Inafune, creator of Mega Man.
I can't excited about this until I see some Megaman 1-6 on VC.
Side note: For all naysayers of this take heart! for it gives you hope that they didn't forget about Megaman Legends either.
I think the GC's Megaman Anniversary Collection shatters all hope for 1-8/M+B on VC.
It's looking great, though.
I personally preffered megaman 7 and 8 than the 8-bit ones, they were still very fun but I'd rather it have it 16/32-bit
oh i was reading nintendo power and megaman 9 looks like megaman 8 with the same effects as the old 1

only megaman 9 looks nothing like megaman 8 ?
Small, but you can tell it's not 8-bit. =\
Nice. I like all the extar features they've added (destroyable floors, rotating platforms, etc...). Giving up graphics gives them more space to innovate.
This looks good.
I need a wii
