I like the Tetris idea. But getting squished by a block should be more like a hit from a home-run bat than a 1-hit-ko...
Before we start actually making these stages I suggest we decide if they will considered first. You don't want to work on something for nothing. And besides we don't even have a style set yet.

Sorry ^^U, I do the stage because I've got a lot of free time and I hate the background Tongue

I'm painting some new stages in paper. I think I have some good ideas for stages bassed in Mario Kart Wii (Coconut Malls), Mother 2 (Saturn Valley) and Pokémon (Pokémon Square) ^^
Ahoy there! I mean, hello, I started working on the Gangplank galleon stage, and I wanted to know if someone could continue? 'cause I suck at doing the backgrounds and the floors Defeated I did the barrels and some other stuff... If someone's interrested, tell me, I have the photoshop document Wink

oh... then if we accept this stage, I have something XD anyway, It helped me; now I know that I'm not good at doing stages...
First things first:

Any confirmed stages, regardless of their WIP status, should go in the first post for the sake of organization.

Second: Should we confirm and complete what past stages we want before we go any further with custom stages?
I say that the lineart should be done now, shading should be done when the confirmed style is shown.
I dunno about that. I mean, that's all well and good if you're working on the stage that way, but for people who work like I do in tiles where the lineart is basically a SuchxSuch square until filled in with the style, just making the lineart doesn't quite work.
I've done two concept stages:

Coconut Malls ~ Mario Kart Wii
I've thought about a Mario Kart's stage and the best option to represent this game is Raimbow Road, but... How do Raimbow Road like a smash stage? Maybe something like Port Town, Mute City... But I've have a idea for another stage from Mario Kart Wii: Coconut Malls

The blue lines are the plataforms where you can fight (Into the fountain, in the palmtrees, the floor and the three floating plataforms. I like 'cause is simple but cool.

Saturn Village ~ EarthBound / Mother 2
The peaceful village where the Mr. Saturn lives. It's a exactly copy of the original site saw in Mother 2.

There seem to be a lot of Earthbound/Mother stage ideas. Tongue
Yes, I think that is better, because you can choise between a lot of options ^^
