Is 3/4 part of the style?
3/4 is suggested.
Sideways is acceptable.
Oh, so should Fox still face sideways, or should I switch him?
Hunched over or elongated character should be sideways but other characters can be 3/4.
nin's Luigi has rubber arms.
MY's Jr. has a weird smile, a strange pose, and no fingers.
Whoops, I accidentally saved it as a bmp, figured eh whatever I'm on my way out the door I'll just post it like this - completely forgetting that photobucket autochanges bmp to jpg. eh, I'm likeing nins anyways. You should round the shading on the side of his face a bit though.
Luigi looks great.

I thought about it, but I assumed everything was supposed to be 3/4 so the new style was consistent.
Also, I wanted to go with the top heavy Smash Bros look for Bowser because this is a Smash Bros sprite. I'll try a more upright look later though, for comparison.
Is this a little better?
I dunno, his snout as a whole doesn't look as rounded as it should be. His smile should curve more. I dunno, personally there's a lot of things I'd change so I'll probably have a crack at it again later.
?
Don't they have their hammers out?
nonetheless Good Job.
Tried to edit the current Mario with Arthur's edit.
I'll try my hand at either Fox, Samus or Ness.

Oh yeah they do
These are looking great, you guys. The Ice Climbers' faces could use a little tweaking, and Devicho already pointed out the problems with Jr's face. Nin, you did an awesome job on Mario and Luigi, but what would they look like with the eye just a little bit bigger? As someone said elsewhere, Masked Man looks too 3-D for the project. Tone him down just a bit.
holy crap, I can't wait to see that Bowser finished.
