I say either:
- Black Knight (because more playable villians would be awesome),
- Lyn (because more women would be awesome),
OR
- save room for another character....(because even more diversity would be awesome).
Did you read the previous posts, specifically Ark Kuvis's idea (with Tyvon's edit)?
Also, the first time I read your post, I thought you said "save room" as in the rooms where you save, as opposed to the act of saving space...
Black Knight wouldn't work, either. He's VERY limited in mobility. Considering how slow and bulky Ike was in Brawl, Black Knight would have to be even more slow. Probably even slower than Ganondorf.
Lyn just can't work by herself. She's not the main character of her game. It's like having Falco and Slippy without Fox. Luigi and Wario without Mario. Just doesn't work. It wouldn't feel right without Eliwood, since he was the actual main character. Which is why Heroes of Elibe works.
And Roy can suck a melon. No one likes him except maybe Tyvon. And even then, it's only a thing for his Melee form.

Ah, ok. I just read. That would be a more efficient idea, but I'm a bit confused <=S.
- Is Roy being replaced or will that idea be the 4th character?
- Does Roy really need to be replaced? If it's for a new character from a different series, I don't exactly mind

I see...
Lyndis can exist without Eliwood, she's more liked by the fanbase. She's also the first FE character to ever be seen by an American audience... in a FE game.
I agree that Lyndis CAN exist without Eliwood... FE7 is a bit harder to narrow down the 'main' character. For all intents and purposes, I WOULD say it is Eliwood, since Lyn's scenario is more the tutorial stage, and Eliwood has the biggest focus the first time through... but really all three lords have the spotlight together. They really are never apart that much once they are together. In reality, I could see any three of them flying solo in Smash... in fact, the one I see LEAST likely of the three because of sheer amount of sword characters is Eliwood. Of course he has so much more going than swords, but Hector's got axes, and although Lyn's got swords, she's also got boobs.
Which brings me to the most important point: Lyn is the first Nintendo character I've ever seen whose tits bounce in a Nintendo video game.
... Geez, I think I just downgraded my intelligence and overall credibility a few pegs there.
So... yeah, I'd love to see Lyn, or all three Heroes of Elibe, as suggested earlier. That'd be freaking awesome, if a bit more complicated.
Okay, Since the Poll say Lyn is the winner is down to her
Ark's idea
Or Micaiah because iirc she was in the lead when the pill officially ended last tuesday.
i say the three hero one. at least that one's original and leaves one of the more popular fe games well represented

I agree with you, if the poll officially ended last tuesday it's just that Micaiah be the 4th character.

Except it's not original. It rips off the Pokemon Trainer.
We might as well get rid of Zero Suit Samus. A heavy, primarily long ranged female fighter transforming into a fast, speedy version of themselves after a condition has already happened through Zelda and Sheik. Zero Suit Samus is a rip off.
Play a Fire Emblem game, Ton. The switching works just as well with Fire Emblem as it does Pokemon. Fire Emblem's main theme played IN brawl states that teamwork is key. The franchise ALWAYS had this. Especially in FE Blazing Sword, which is arguably the most popular game in the franchise that came stateside. These three characters are LESS obscure than Roy, who we haven't even seen Stateside outside of Melee.
Also, with the switching, to further seperate it from Pokemon Trainer, how about Pressing Down B, and then a direction to choose which Hero you want. Say if you are Eliwood. Pressing Down B and then Right will bring out Hector, but Down B Left will bring out Lyn. I don't think it's too complicated. Not pressing any direction brings out the Right option.
^But it's not like WE added her. She was in Brawl.
Teddy, turn on your sarcasm detectors.
ZSS's transformation is different because it is triggered by the Final Smash, not by pressing down-B. Nicholas Cage hair pic here. While the directional thing sounds good on paper, in battle it will be clumsy and annoying.
