actually koopaul that is a good idea as long as knuckles and tails are playable in the original anhd they don't purposely gimp the original game just to make a buck off the dlc by making the true "full" game be another purchase on top of the already 60 buck price tag

Eh no. None of that. Just good old Sonic with Eggman plot. Plus new characters if you want them.

Personally, I like how they executed Mighty in Sonic the Hedgehog Megamix (Can store shields, has Sonic 3's instashield, all-around defensive, as I imagine an armadillo would be), even though he was lacking his wallkick there.

Like a said in an earlier post, I'm a sucker for obscure/mostly obscure characters, like Mighty.

But if it's only Sonic and Eggman plot, it shouldn't be hard to make Shadow/Silver/Blaze/Amy Rose/Uncle Chuck/whatever playable if they are common "running hedgehog" type. Same mechanic, just a new variables and switches and you got a new character, new text (don't takes much) and same ol' fun. It could be great for a VS or a co-op mode. Maybe Mighty if did some small tweaking.
Plus Tails (I think he was playable in Sonic 2 vs mode? I recall there was one vs mode you could play as Tails) as optional extra game, maybe with also Cream/Marine/whatever using the same mechanic, and Knuckles/Rogue/Vector using Knuckles base. Add some extra levels and have them as extra download.
See? Not hard to do. Just do a freaking running game and everyone will be happy, without the ridiculous stories.

edit- Though a Knuckles Chaotix sequel would be cool as long as it ONLY has the characters from the first one in it.

the sonics fans are divided. half are happy that no new rats are added, and the other half is mad because their favorite rat is not added. and the comments on the blog go from hilarious to retarded.
