Okay we get it. You wanted classic style Sonic in there. Does the new title screen really bother you THAT much? I'll admit it would have been neat to see a closer Sonic to the original design in there, but the one they used looks great (slightly better IMO) and he's not all that different looking anyway.
Besides, while it seems slightly more speed oriented than the original games with a speed booster close to the start of the level, it looks like they are at least making an attempt at a more classic styled game level layout and gameplay wise. I really think that it looks good so far and while I reserve my final judgment for when the game comes out I'm honestly looking forward to this.
the video is already down
Eh its not there either...
Hmm guess I'm late to the party I wanted to avoid this thread thought it was just going to be a continuous back and forth Sonic bash and reinforce hope thread.
Just watched the video.
I'm excited.
I'm already sold.
If you not I'm sorry, your a fucking
Whatever you know you find offence to me calling you. If you don't have anything then my other option is to give you this very short rope with a very high ceiling.
Yeah. I'm
that sold on this game.
That video is actually really good. I really love the graphics, they look a lot like Kirby Superstar Ultra's. The jumping animation is hella weird and slow, and I really dislike that they're still using dashpads/speed boosters, but oh well, this game actually looks like it has actual platforming instead of holding right, and I'm really glad so.
Special Stage looks like Sonic 1's. I really hope that it plays somewhat differently than it. Re-usage of previous Special Stages is really lame, specially Sonic 1's, which is not as great as Sonic 3's, or Sonic CD's, or Sonic 2's and all the derivates from Sonic 2's (Sonic 3D Blast Saturn, Sonic Rush, etc).
Rokkan, note that the game is still in alpha, as the video showed. The jump could simply be slowed down and not have the blue trail effects on it yet.
also note that he jumped over every dash pad and only hit two (buggy) springs
I'm assuming they weren't completely coded yet
edit- Why does everyone hate dash pads? Everybody seems to forget that they were in both sonic 2 and S3K.
we already said why. unlike in the 3D games(and also, as the video shows) dashpads could be avoided and weren't as mandatory as they are in 2D games.
the ones in chemical plant zone in sonic 2 are completely optional, they didn't 'force' you to go anywhere.
The ones in the other 2D games don't either.
Have you played any of the Advance/Rush series?
Not to mention the ones in Flying Battery and Launch Base, and there's probably a few more that I'm missing.

*fixed it
the ones and launch base aren't necesary. the ones in flying battery zone aren't even dashpads. can/have to be avoided most of the time.
