the interest on anything about sonic 4. or sonic, at all.
they did wanted the hype, they got the hype, they had to face the shitstorm and evryone literally mocked at the retarded fanbase sonic has. now that the hype is over and the game was completely exposed and tehre is no real surprise behind it-
no one gives a fuck about sonic anymore, besides the retarded sonic fanbase that literally expects every sonic game to be a new mesiah. it seems not even sega gives a fuck about sonic anymore and they rather make a new game with new characters to provide more fresh content to a general audience rather than making a "new gen sonic game to please the fanbase".
I'd buy it.
And enjoy it.

but
they never did that
ever
not even once, since SA2B
(actually they tried with sonic 06 but then the retarded people realized that they started making a good game and then fucked it up and we all know how that ended up)
problem is you can't please a fanbase when they literally dont know what they want.
it
really isnt that hard
we want a 2d, hd sprited game, preferably based off the S3K engine (though that isn't needed), with classic style gameplay, levels, music, enemies, and story
oh, and no sonic friends
Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Robotnik only. And maybe Mecha Sonic and its iterations.
No boost gauge. No homing attack.
THAT is the game that the fanbase wants.
The other game that would make the fanbase happy is a game that esentially takes all the best things from SA1 and SA2 and puts them together into a great game. Sonic 2006 attemped this, but endedup as a giant clusterfuck.
It really isn't that hard, Sega. Come on.

so, out of the 11 things listed, only three of them aren't actually in the game.
where is the issue?
you forgot sonic having green eyes.

Most people I've seen wanted the game to be 16 bit. Also seen many complain about the lack of characters like Blaze. And many others complainign about the lack of 3D. I'm sorry Viper, but you are not the fanbase.
(as for me, I want a fun game. yeah i'm easy to please)

I'm easy to please, too.
Let's be friends.
You forgot to say that us fans also don't want Sonic 1...2.
Vipershark.
The "rehashing" is perfectly fine in this case. Sure, people were totally up in arms about it (and still are) but... it's episode 1. And if they don't find a storyline reason to be rehashing the old levels and whatnot (which, honestly, is VERY easy to make), it won't really be a huge deal. There will obviously be an episode 2. Sonic 4 is NOT the final game. This allows the developers to continuously improve the game even when it's released. If you're not happy with Sonic 4 when it releases, just wait until Episode 2.
Sonic Team may have dug themselves into a hole, but it's obvious that they're actually trying to crawl out of it.

For once, I agree with you.
What don't people like about Sonic 2006 again?
Besides Silver -cringe-
It was very unfinished, with lots of glitches, and a mechanic that wasn't even implimented properly.
If it was done *right*, then it would have been pretty decent.
Serious question: Have you played it?
The game is literally unfinished, and
nearly unplayable.
It's so filled with bugs and other unfinished elements that 90% of the people who played it absolutely hated it.
The game needed AT LEAST another year of development time, but Sega basically forced them to print Alpha code to disc in order to rush the game to market by christmas.
I, for one, don't totally hate tyhe game. In fact, I rather like it (if only for the entertainment value) but the biggest problem with Snic 06 for me is the huge constant feeling of wasted potential. The game has great music, graphics, and the level layouts are almost perfect, but the gameplay and bland environments and loading times and everything else is so unfinished that the game is instantly billed as terrible.
Believe it or not, Sonic 06 was only supposed to have Sonic in it at one point, but during the rush, that was forced to change and all of the Sonic friends (with their EVEN WORSE controls) were added in.
