Sonic Heroes was a pretty good game, it had it's moments now and then. Though the thing I missed was the Chao Garden that actually was pretty fun for a while then........Shadow the Hedgehog came in. Then most of the Sonic Games went all down hill.
Shadow the hedgehog's gameplay was a lot more solid than Heroes'. Also, Heroes' has horribly long levels.

Also, who is Shade?
Shade is from Sonic Chronicles, an RPG that Bioware surprisingly took a huge shit on

Aside from the annoying voice acting, terrible physics, insanely cheap deaths, and MANY game-breaking bugs?
It didn't have enough variety.
As Jovian 12 said, it's was just the same level with all four teams, and their playing styles weren't really different enough to justify their existence.
It was pretty much "LET'S THROW AS MANY SONIC FRIENDS INTO A GAME AS WE CAN AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS."
I've said it before, and I'll say it again.
Sonic Heroes was actually a really good idea. Team-based strategic play using 3 characters at once? Sign me up.
It was a great idea ruined by terrible execution.

megaman 9 was just a rerun of the old gameplay in old graphics for the sake of giving old fans a NOSTALGIA PUNCH. nothing new in the wide sense of the word.
of sega is planning to do the same with sonic and HIS NEW CARTOON RAT FRIEND then i'd really don't expect much from it.
and to add to everything said and seen, i wouldnt expect the "upgraded Genesis-like sprites" we would like to see in a potential Sonic 4.
I think either way its going to be a 3D sidescroller as Sega hasn't used sprites for the main graphics of a console game in years. Although I really don't care so long as they find a way to make the gameplay work well which hasn't really seemed to work for them for a long time. I'm hoping for the best here, but I'm not expecting a lot either.
I second that, Vipershark
Terrible and lazy execution. Too many recycled levels and too many bugs.
I wouldn't mind if the new Sonic got this Megaman 9 effect. Actually, it's quite what the franchise need because I'm tired of those bad games

honestly i would rather that. a game doesn't always have to innovate, that was what made sonic 2/3/k/cd better than the first, they didn't tack on a gimmick or radically change much, they just expanded. obviously there's times to innovate, the 3d age and new games and things, but sonic's venture into 3d was mediocre at best and has gone downhill since.
Wait what was wrong with Mega Man 9?
Why is it that everyone wants to complain about things!

Nothing it was good. Some people just like to whine about its lack of innovation. Because that was really the point of the game.
You know what I complain about?
......
Can't guess? It's not complaining; meaning SEGA has money to still keep making Sonic games. Not all of them bad not all of them will be good. But if they're still trying then that means THEY haven't given up so I commend them.
Also, mediocre jump into 3d? Obviously you and I weren't playing the same Sonic Adventure games I'll give you the downhill, but that's as far as you went in terms of truth.
Sidenote: Sonic Rush? and Sonic Adventure Rush? Great games you advocate it's ease but it doesn't matter you just traded spin dash a stop and go motion for one that doesn't stop and personally claiming to be the fastest thing alive makes more sense not to destroy things when he's moving constantly at a sonic boom rate. That's just me though.
Well, in my personal opinion, the 3D sonic games were okay, but not as good as the 2D ones, and what the heck was Sega thinking!? The music in sonic adventure II: Battle suuuucccckkkkeeeddd! NEVER get rappers/rock/punk rock/or vocalized music...IN EVERY LEVEL! I mean...The "Redemption" song at the VERY end level in Final Fantasy 7: Dirge of The Cerberus was awesome, but that is because it took a TON of effort to make, and it wasn't over used. PS: If they DO just remake the first game, shouldn't they redo 1, 2, 3, and 4? With a little more content and secrets here and there...like maybe...well, costumes wouldn't work so well, new shoes with added effects? (Perma-Flame resist) (Perma-Water resist) (Perma-Ring grab (Not electric barrier) (Perma-Electric Barrier) They could even add special rings into the mix, like a perminate ring that adds 10 or so rings on the start of the level? There's tons of things they could add as bonus content, but there are a lot more possibilities for a new game, but please, for the love of Pooka...ONLY use instrumental music!
To me the 3-D games were just me biding for time until they made a good one.
PS- Megaman 9 was fun, but hard as shit.

WHAT? No it didn't. The music in SA2B was excellent. I don't know what the hell you're thinking.
And I don't know what game you were playing, but they didn't use vocals in every song. More like four of them. Not like it would be a problem if they used vocals in every song anyway. The vocals were done well in every song from what I remember. You can't say they didn't put effort in the soundtrack when they clearly did. Every level had its own distinct sound and atmosphere. It was perfect.
Just because YOU can't handle songs with variety doesn't mean it was a bad soundtrack. Honestly, SA2B has one of the best soundtracks ever. There's something for everybody.
