The main issue is a matter of the design of the boot, not necessarily the leg itself; it's because there's a part of the boot that arcs over the foot creating the illusion that it's going out more than it is

EDIT:

more complete/possibly final version of the idle stance
pacing and speed will be a little different in game though

Just a suggestion, not sure about the foot, tried it flat but preferred it like this.

leave it as it is now, and move foward with the animation.
