Starmen.net seems to think it's a beam sword and he does indeed have the gun arm.
Not knowing anything about the character, I kinda like the idea of him using both a gunarm and beamsword, but I'll let you guys decide on that.

That's true. Plus he doesn't have it out of battle.
It can appear just whenever he uses it.
Maybe he'll put the sword away for items, like how Link puts his shield away.
Hm, I think it would be better if he put the gun away.
Yeah, especially since he's almost always portrayed with the sword, rather than the gun.

I like Piks edit, but I think the helmet may have a little to much detail for the style.
