I disagree. The same argument can be said about the Omochao, which is a better fit for Cream, because it is one of Cream's attacks in Sonic Battle. Tails never ever used a Omochao to attack.
There's also the idea of the ring monitor that shatters "fake rings" that was discussed before, and was an attack at Sonic the Hedgehog for PS3/360.
When you put the giant finger that way, of course it sounds like a bad idea.

Hmm... Well... maybe your Omochao idea but with the False Power Rings that he would toss in Sonic Heroes when he had no allies?
The ring monitor relies too much on your enemy breaking it open, I think.

seriously koopaul, I'm a SEGA fan and even I regconize there isn't any other SEGA character as well explored as the ones from Sonic, making the creation of a moveset hard. I don't actually think I'd like to play as any other SEGA character actually.
Unless it'd be Ryo Hazuki or Segata Sanshiro.

I don't think that a moveset would be an issue.
Besides Marina isn't "well explored" either and yet she's on the roster! She's only had one obscure game and she has the right to be on the roster but any other SEGA character that doesn't live up to the light of Sonic doesn't? Sounds biased to me.
Also I HAVE played the 360 and PS3 Teeks. I just don't like them. But just because I don't like them doesn't mean I will discredit them and their accomplishments. When was the last time I mocked the 360 on these forums?

Ah look arguing isn't going to get us anywhere. It never does. I just wanted to be fair to SEGA is all and give them the same treatment. Hm... I wouldn't have this problem if we weren't doing this two reps per third-party company. I wouldn't even mind Marina then.
See, koopaul, you don't have a clue about any other SEGA character. NiGHTS? I've never seen NiGHTS walking on the ground or fighting, have you? Ristar? Ristar's only attacks are of stretching arms and bashing. Shinobi? It's too much of a generic ninja, it doesn't have anything appealing on it.
If we put a SEGA character instead of another Sonic character, I highly suggest it'd be Ryo Hazuki from Shenmue. But he would have to have a bike move just like Wario.
In all fairness, all Little Mac does is punch and we're using him. The problem is star quality. After the Sonic franchise, who pops to mind? Maybe NiGHTS, who really only flies or ToeJam and Earl, who A) couldn't be in without the other and B) Are still not huge characters. Sega is Sonic and Sonic is Sega. Nintendo can get away with obscure characters because it's their franchise.

I take offense to this statement. Joe Mushashi is not a generic ninja. He is THE generic ninja, the best generic ninja out there, and don't you forget it, or you'll get a face full of seven shuriken on your face.
In all seriousness though, outside of the Sonic franchise, Sega has never or rarely utilized any of their more memorable franchises outside the 90's. Sure, they released a new NiGHTS game for the wii, and there was that PS2 Shinobi, without Joe as the main character and with a tacked-on soul-eating sword storyline. Feh!
Sure, there are characters I like more than Tails, a LOT more than Tails, but... meh. As long as Shadow and Silver are kept out of that slot, I can deal with it. Knuckles would be pretty badass though, just never forget that.
