yes, two is the best one. But I think it should be yellower, like the reference.

*This is creepier than Super Metroid's Mother Brain*
two is the one that ressemble the most to the reference

New skin palette and a couple emotions. Better?
I really like this, if you could integrate the variation in width of the outline that'd be cool, plus giving it a more cartoony edge.
Much as Ego's sprite is competent I think it needs one more darker shade and a slight change in hue (greener/yellow). The chin does not seem to curl up on either extremities, and the eyebrows aren't quite that shape, they tend to curl more on each end. I'm really liking this so please continue!
What do you mean with the chin?

One more darker shade I can do, and I've been wondering how we should handle to green/yellow color. It should be there from the water, but is there a way to get the color change uniform across everything underwater? The only way I can think of is to create another layer with a solid color that's at, like, 10% opacity.
Or maybe I'll just change to spine color on its own. W/e, I'll just do this for now. Also, thanks for the compliment.
Yeah, the water will probably have to be a Photoshop effect.
Update tiemz.

Added darker shade, alternate spine palette to the right, purple thing behind the spine given some preliminary shading. Looking at the ref, I think there should be a couple more ribs on it, but w/e, its not important.

I think I might need to mess with a bit of perspective on the brain. NOT looking forward to that.
I didn't even think of the brain perspective. :/
It looks great so far, man. I'm really impressed. I updated the lineart with the other two glass tubes that poke out. I was trying to get it to you before you shaded something you didn't have to. Tongue
As for the ribbing, they change sizes in each reference. Kind of odd.

I tried to edit the spine a bit so you could see the curve (next to the curved line). Let me know what you think.
Mother brain is seriously one of the most fucked up villains of my childhood, now that I look back.
Jesus.

I vote for the third face if it isn't too late.

Looks like you hit gold, Ton. /thumbsup
Updates again!

The update is mostly about the base. The brain thing was a quick little experiment, I highly doubt I'd do the rest that way. Unless, of course, anyone really really likes it that way.

Thanks Ton, the edit looks good. Also, looking at it again, the brain perspective is fine.

Something on your end though, the white seems a little stark on the lips. Try softening it with an additional pink color.

EDIT: As a quick note, I made up a new plan of where I'm putting the highlights on the brain.

Ok. Can do.

Brain progress. How's it doing?
Dude. Holy crap.
Left Brain, Right Brain.

EDIT:Last update of the night.

EDITEDIT: I lied. And you're all the better for it. DONE. WITH. THE. BRAIN.
