Toon Link uses a sword. I don't see a problem with an axe, its not like its a chainsaw.

I agree with Koopaul, Toon Link needs a chainsaw.
... Seriously though, I don't think the axe would be that bad, especially if you gave him something like the gold axe. But then again, compared to Animal Crosser, Toon Link has done some violent !@#$.

If Side B would be the Axe, I wouldn't see any problem.
If it misses or hits a very light object (like the football / soccer ball or the smoke ball), it swings, launching light items away, if it hits anything else (including all players), it bounces, making you flinch a little, but doing massive damage. Just like in the game.

The Axe really isn't too violent
I can see him doing that 'Bounce-Back' animation he does when he hits an Animal/Wall/Rock with the axe in the game. Basically, it would act as a recoil, and IMO, give the Animal Crosser a cartoony charm. Plus the 'Bounce-Back' would make it seem like it doesn't do much damage.

I was gonna throw this out here a couple of days ago but my internet died: Kevin Keene.
Wouldn't a Nintendo Crossover character work great in a Nintendo crossover game?
VB? being 'change the battery' Only a certain ammount of shots before he has to do so, or his power just gets weaker and weaker until he does so?
Final Smash?
possible alt costumes?

As much as I'd love that, I don't think, as a character, he'd work for this game.

He's not a real video game character. It'd be like putting Chris Thorndike in.

Bad example, Chris wouldn't be in anyway due to Sonic already filling up SEGA's space.

OK, I've been thinking about this for a little while....
I've said it before somewhere, but I wasn't entirely sure about...
I think Ryu should be in...Not Street Fighter Ryu, but Ninja Gaiden Ryu, representing Tecmo. (Although Street Fighter Ryu wouldn't be a bad idea, either...)
I haven't thought of a moveset for him yet (Only played through first two stages of Ninja Gaiden 2), but I just wanted to lay it on the table...

*sigh* You know what I'm talking about. No characters coined up from TV shows or comic books or any other media besides video games.

Since the poll concerning 3rd parties has finished up, perhaps we should sort out which five 3rd parties should be in along with Snake, Sonic and Mega Man?

Make him around Sheik's speed and have his attacks around average or below.

A spin-off with the most popular character of all..........Chris Thorndike
