Your concepts keep getting better and better as this thread goes along.
This looks like one online game that I may actually play.
Great pixel art along with a great idea makes for a great project.
I'm sure you'll keep us posted.
P.S. What program are you going to make the game with?
I don't know. I'm just supposing I'm making a game
(that means I'm not really making it) so I don't have any solid ideas about the programs or stuff. Maybe a programmer will pick this up and start tinkering with all these stuff... or not. I'm doing this more for fun than making a real game, to tell you the truth.
Also, thanks for liking the ideas and pixelarts
EDIT:
Looking awesome. The animations are so tight.
I've dabbled in MMF2 as far as game making programs go, but the only way to make those games look really tight is to build the physics engine yourself inside the program (which I haven't mastered yet xD). Every game I've done SO FAR has looked rather silly using the in-program physics engine.
By the way, what is the gameplay and story going to be like in this, or have you not decided on that yet? With a character like this, I can really see it as a linear stage by stage kind of game, or as a Metroid kind of exploration game. Moreso the basic platformer, though.
yeah, I didn't decide yet. I'm slow when deciding stuff
This is a tentative effect for the reflect move.
Haha, machinegun head. Glad this isn't dead.
edit: Oh, I'm a poet
And you didn't even know it.
Anyways, this is looking excellent, I can't wait for the character animations!
Hello there
I tried to do a walking cycle...
I'm such a lazy bastard
hmm. I know most of us do it the way you are now, but.
How about redrawing all the frames?
what do you mean by redrawing all the frames?
well, you're using the same head for every frame, for example. what i mean is, without reusing anything from the previous frame (no moving, no rotating), make new frames.
i just think a good solid style deserves better animation. :>
Ooh, I get it.
I didn't move his head because I mean... no one moves it when walking or running. The games do this frequently but I don't know why.
popping in to say I love how this is coming along, this is a really cool concept and it seems entirely possible because of how good you are at spriting.
I think the head's fine where it is. I'd say the feet look a little strange but that's just because of his shape so they're fine. perhaps when it gets shaded and the arms go on it'll look more natural to me.
redrawing each frame gives an animation way more life and this style would look fantastic with some life
You should have the head bob up and down or something
