I like the engine. Can my Paper Mario be a character?
Also I'm up for the "Capture the Flag" idea

Big YES to Board the Platforms and Race to the Finish. Capture the Flag sounds awesome, but on regular stages could lead it to get boring quickly. Maybe there could be stages specifically made for CtF.
For the roster, I looked back, because I've weird like that, and counted 40 characters slots across the entire series and 44 playable characters in all. 12 in 64, 14 new characters in Melee and 18 new characters in Brawl. How many new characters should we add here?
And in regards to more 3rd Party characters, I nominate KOS-MOS as one since I'm already working on her >_>

By that pattern there should be 26 new characters.
Something else I'd like to mention are the "super" items like dragoon and the smash ball. If these are put in the game at all, could the frequency of them appearing be drastically lowered. It seemed like you'd see them in SSBB every other match.
Oh and I vote Lava Reef Zone from Sonic and Knuckles for an adventure stage.

Umm... What kind of game are you guys trying to make? is it a flash game?
I can help some if yall are using a game builder. I have plenty of books on 3D animations, simulation programs, 3DSFX, and 3D image effects

With twenty-six new characters, I say about three of them are 3rd party.
My vote goes to Mega Man (Capcom) Cless (Namco) and IDC who else.

Why only 3 new 3rd party characters? I think there should be a better stage builder.

Smash bros Started out as a nintendo Only game. We don't want a shit-load of 3rd party characters, or else it kinda loses it's feel.

I second this. It would be really awesome if you could build a stage from a few png files or something. Have one for collision, another for the foreground, and another for the background. Then you could place spawnpoints and moving stuff in an ingame editor.

ooh that would be awesome. but not too 3D though. Like maybe 2.5D or something. for like the stage. My game has the Kirby created by drschnaps and the stage is a actual picture of final destination from brawl. But who's game are we talking about?

NO! If we're going to use sprites which I'm more than a little sure we are then using 3d for backgrounds will make the game look like crap. Not to mention TSR has a severe lack of 3d modelers and people who can program 3d games in the first place.

I forgot to ask...
For the Stage Builder, will be making the existing box from Brawl, or are will we have custom-made pieces?
Wanna try my hand at the stage builder parts
