I spent about 45 minutes doing all of the poses for Sketch Turner from Comix Zone only to find that the background was black and merging with his shorts, belt, shoes, and gloves, ruining everything I did. So yeah, it would be greatly appreciated. Try gensKMod

GensKMod like Solink says but you need to go onto the Sprites Mode under CPU as that gives a blue background. If you do layer removal, you get the black background on that game. Oh and since you are ripping Comix Zone I give you a hint, there is a rare pose that is easily accessable in a prototype version (I forgot the number but it is in the drx batch of prototypes that was released in February).

If roms are illegal, why hasn't this whole site been arrested for ripping?
And why are they illegal anyway?

Add a Game Gear, one up there. Or Sega Saturn. Those are some good ones.

For one, it's a form of advertisement and generates interest in games and series. For the other we are not claiming ownership at all and tell people (in the rules section of tSR) that the products are owned by their respective companies and in all the games we've compiled for sheets and usage, we've only gotten one complaint. But that was because the game WAS NOT OUT YET, and after it was released we reuploaded the gfx and no lawsuits or complaints have been filed yet.

Something about emulated games violating the ToS for being altered in format, violating lawsuits by dispensing commercial content for free, and the fact that it's PIRACY!
We do NOT allow the linking of roms, the uploading of roms, in any way, shape or form. It's a bannable offense and let that be the first and only warning any of you get from here on out.

For Game Gear, I know that you can use MEKA for that (there is a sprite/background remover and a tile viewer) but I'm not sure for Saturn (otherwise figuring out on ripping Sonic 3D PC would be much easier).

Yeah well, I press F12 (the snapshot key) on Snes9x but either it's not saving the screenshot (probably this, because it's not popping up any text at the bottom of the screen), or it's putting it in an unknown directory. Halpz?
I'm planning on doing some Zelda 3 tile ripping, but to no success yet. (and no ZSNES won't work on my comp)
If all else fails, try to either pause the frame or just hope for good timing. Just press Print Screen, which will copy the entire screen contents to the "clipboard" which will then let you paste it into MS Paint, then you can cut out the sprite you want to rip.

I don't fully understand your question.
There are two types of ripping, sprite ripping using tools like YY-CHR, Tile Molester, Tile Layer Pro (still use this - sometimes just to make a pallete and use TM or if I'm lazy use that), GGD which is very hard but might be an option for the hard to rip sprites or layer removing using emulators.
Photoshop is just to arrange them manually from the tiles ripped from the tools or pallete fix them if the colours are wrong. AFAIK you can't put a ROM in that and expect results (exceptions are PC games that use RAW files or any image type and Photoshop can open them).

Thank you, and I have always wanted to rip Sonic 3D for PC, I used to play that game when I was a lot younger. Great game, I still have Sega Smash Pack 2, and a lot of other old school Sega games.
