Yes exactly. All the other sprites have a one pixel difference between where the legs stand.
Well not all of them. Samus and Klonoa have two, and Deoxys has 5 (although I think one leg actually raised in the air here, but I'm not really sure).

But I'll change it.

Used Nin's head and brought the leg down one pixel.

Looks really good Wes.

I really like this stuff. Nice detail on the shield.

It think because Toon Link's legs are short and closer to each other they should be one pixel.

OK so here's the scoop. I've been thinking about his stance, and some things don't add up. In Brawl, when facing right, Toon Link is facing away from the screen. Yet we have him facing towards the screen, seen in the picture below in the the top row (ours - Brawl). The problem with ours is his shield. In Brawl (and the other two games with regular Link), his shield can block weak projectiles while he stands still. However, we have his shield being held behind him, so this doesn't work.

I don't know what our standing is on the whole "flipped sprites vs respriting in the other direction", but I think Link should be resprited when facing right because it would mess up his right-handedness. However, the point of this post is to find a way to fix the problem of him not shielding his front when facing right (facing left isn't a problem, we can make it like Brawl was (bottom left of the picture)).

My idea is to scrap the whole "block when idle"thing, and change it to "block when crouching". His crouch could be the same as Brawl (kneeling and holding the shield still in front of him). My other idea is the change the way he holds the shield in the current sprite so that it covers his body (bottom right).

Did some minor editing.

What do you guys think of the wider eyes?

I liked your other head better. But I don't think it really matters since they're pretty similar.

Hey Nin is this okay? It sorta makes it look like he has a nose now...

Thanked by:
he looks less toon with the nose :/

That may be, but Toon Link has a nose.
Thanked by:
But it's very tiny. At such a small size, the nose is too small to see. Take any picture of Toon Link, and then shrink the picture so Link is the same size as these sprites. Can you see his nose? No, you can't. It's a tiny detail that isn't very prominent and takes away from his cartoon-like design.

Yeah but something does look more Toon Linkish with that edit in my opinion. Maybe I overdid the nose... There how's this?

I'll have to go with Koopaul here. While his nose may be really small, without it, it doesn't quite have the same look that Toon Link has.

... I dunno, though...

EDIT: Though seeing the sprite blown-up looks kinda creepy and entirely un-nose-like... If you're gonna subdue it a bit, maybe raise it up a pixel or something.

I honestly can't notice a difference between those two when viewed at normal zoom. But I like the left one more simply because of the shading on his face.
