Project: Oracles Reborn *2.0*

Pretty sure one of the people who runs this project has already started working on this and did a better job than I did, but I really wanted to try out the style and attempted Din. Pretty heavily based off of Nayru, though.

I dunno, personally it seems you need to lay down the actual plans of the environment. From what it sounds like, you're making a side view game.

Btw - For Dark Dragon to be 'looking down', his head is starting pretty far down, with his spine sticking up over the top of his skull like that. He's either really hunched over, leaning on his hands / forarms, or his neck is just that low on his torso.

I haven't even started on his spine yet.

Also, he is hunched over somewhat in game.

So that's still part of his head at the top of the small sprite? I assumed it was his spine because of the positioning and the bumps (the way it matches what I assumed was the far rim of his shoulders). That and it was the same color and brightness as what I assumed was his torso. Or did you think I was asking about the larger sprite since that doesn't have the same details?

I guess I'll just wait till it's done to be able to judge whether it's a straight on shot like link or if it's actually at an angle. The large head looks fine if it's at an angle and leaned over, but the rest of the body detail would be what actually determines if it's matching the intended direction.

I tried making a PH/ST Octorock to compare with your other Octorock.

You can use it if you want.

Honestly, I'd rather use the PH/ST one, but I know some people hate the design, but I'd say finish it cuz I'd like to use it.

Oh yeah, for the sake of getting various people to stop complaining and making god awful edits of my sprite (I've seen more than just the one posted in this topic), I've started making a new top down Link.

The original will still be used in the game for 2D areas.

Still a WIP obviously, but I like what I've got so far.

I too, do like your Links. I enjoy both, nor do I feel I hold authority to dictate Link's creation. Just let me know if I need to adjust my bombs to fit the style of Link you choose.

New one's perspective looks much better, man. Smile

Looking forward to animations.

Maybe a bit to exaggerated, but I have an animation:

Yeah, and link I said, both sprites will most likely be used, which means other characters and enemies will need 2 different angles for over head views. I was talking to BB about adding a trophy function like in WW/MC where we could use the straight view sprites.

Oh, and a WIP of the Dark Dragon lineart.

BB and I decided to go with the sphere arms since his arms movements are just to random. Even if we made base arm parts to rotate, we'd have to make a large number of arm parts for it to work.

Didn't his original use sphere arms also?
