Fate's Mirror Promo Artwork

Hello everyone.

If you don't already know by now, me and a few dudes have been working on a neat little game called "Fate's Mirror."

I'll post about it more in Game Dev later, have this while you wait;

Sword looks a little bent, or was that intentional?

I like the style. The shines on the metallic parts look nice.

are you still using the excuse "my style doesn't need proper anatomy" because that excuse is bullshit and you are pretty much required to know proper anatomy to get away with making cartoony looking things

Anatomy, hot damn man you gotta study your anatomy. Also the sword is flat and looks bent out of s hape a little. Other than that it's fine.

err no, i used the official sprite as reference for this.

the only problem i can find anatomy-wise when compared to the actual in-game sprite is that the legs are too short.

The body size is good, it's his head that throws it off. You should use simpler shapes to represent things like eyes and hair, right now it seems kinda anime-ish while the body does not really look all that anime. The hair's shape looks really off as well. It looks a little unnatural and rushed, I think you should go back and try to add a more fluent shape rather than the really angular lines that you have now. The belt is also reeally bugging me. It does not have a smooth shape or one that clearly represents that its wrapped around him. Also, the width changes in the second half of the belt. Now the clothes shape is also odd, the overcoat shirt thing's flaps are rigidly shaped and look like there sort of supposed to have a crease or bend or fold in it, but it does not really come off that way.

Without continuing to repeat myself I think you should go back and look at the shape of the lineart, some of the stuff is really off Unsure

The shield is really bugging me in the promo art, it looks so odd shadpe and shading wise. It looks like shading was applied without taking the shape of the shield into account. All I really see is a repeated highlight pattern with different colors.

something about the face seems really off to me, but I can't place my finger on what it is
I think it's the eyes, but I dunno

also lol he still shows signs of the traditional "tyvon look down" pose

im gonna smash your computer into a million pieces and then beat you and tie you up and drag you into a room with nothing but anatomy books, paper and pencils and ill leave you there for months while i watch your every move and ill release you when i see your anatomy become god-like.
