If they remake Gen 3, does that mean they'll remake Gen 1 again? FR/LG are technically Gen 3.

They could also re-set the timeline for RSE since it isn't completely set in stone as are all the other games.

I wouldn't be surprised if gen 1 is remade on the DS2 aside gen5 (which still hasn't been confirmed for the DS yet), though it'd probably be an afterthought to the Gen3 remakes.

edit- It would make more sense to do a Gen1 remake alongside the gen4 remakes, though. I don't see any reason to loop back before gen4 comes out.

Woah, about making a single game with all the regions? It'd save us from waiting 2 years just to re-buy a game and waiting 2 more to get a new one. It'd be a top-seller for sure.

e: and actually continue the route system. Jumping from 46 to 100? What the hell was that about?

I think they'd never do that because they'd have to do all this crazy shit, make pokemon higher than level 100, make the gym leaders weaker, make some new area that connects the regions.
I think they should make pokemon Old (with Johto and Kanto) and New version (with Hoenn and Sinnoh and whatever the new region is called).

or just tone down the experience gain and trainers.

I always thought it was that gens 1&3 took place at around the same time, and gens 2&4?

I kinda like the idea it'd go 3 > 1 > 2 > 4 or something. I dunno.

speaking of "gen 3 remakes," I always figured that the inclusion of so many Hoenn Pokemon (and even the legendaries) in HGSS meant they weren't really considering, since if gen 3 got remade, most of its special Pokemon would already be in HGSS. seems silly.

I wouldn't mind two regions in the games. all of them in one game seems overmuch, but more than one would be nice.

From what I can tell, gen 1,3,and 4 take place around the same time while gen 2 takes place 3 years later (If I remember correctly, Red's mom says he left 3 years ago after becoming champion or something). Since you can trade between FR/LG with R/S/E, I'd assume they are in the same time period, and I'd say 4 must be close as well.

I thought that too, but Lake of Rage has a ton of Gyarados in it, and since red Gyarados is his shiny color, it could just be another one. If anything, 2 is a little after 4 because I remember reading somewhere that in HG/SS's Arceus event, you see Cynthia and she states that she was the Pokemon champion. If this is true then that means that it would take place a bit after 4.

Elite Four for Gen 5 should be the trainers from DP, RS, GS, and RB. In that order.

this is not likely at all, if cynthia states she was champion then it would be BEFORE 4 since you become champ AFTER that. and another red gyarados? thats just dumb, the red gyarados got his color because team rocket used a radio signal that alternated his color, seeing a simple shiny and not referencing that (along with the other shitload of gen 2 references in dppt) would be silly.

sinnoh is the last region as of right now in terms of ingame timeline.

Personally this is what I'd like to see in future Pokemon games:
1) Something that doesn't revolve around being a trainer who's gotta be a Pokemon Master who battles other trainers, gym leaders, your rival, one or more evil teams, the Elite 4, and the Champion.

I mean there's gotta be other avenues Pokemon could follow. Like having stories as ambitious as the Pokemon movies. Hell several of the later movies are tied together story-wise. Colosseum while being poorly executed had a story that was different than being a Pokemon Master.

2) Actually drop turn based battles for live battles. The battle system could play like Tales of... or be based on Brawl (without Brawl's rules for combat).

3) Instead of different versions having the same gameplay and locales, but different Pokemon, why not have the versions have different locales? Like (and I know it's way too late) for HeartGold and SoulSilver, have Johto in Gold and Kanto in Silver.

4) Actually allow Pokemon to have more than four moves. So instead of forgetting or replacing moves, you keep the old moves, but you equip what moves you want out of what the Pokemon knows (up to four max).

There's nothing more annoying that finding a good, but weak Pokemon you missed early only to be so powerful late that one attack KOs the target all because you couldn't keep Tackle in favor of Double Edge.

I think Colosseum should be remade into a Ds game, despite it being poorly executed it is still one of my favorite pokemon games..ever.
