I saw an arcade cabinet of that prequel to Soul Calibur (Soul Blade?) while on holiday. Unfortunately I had no change of the local currency.

Lizardman was in the opening demo, touted as a regular character instead of an extra.

Soul Blade (Soul Edge in Japan) is the first game, then the Soul Calibur series.
