Looks nice, indeed. However, the face looks like Renamon's (the yellow color and the eye's shape adds to this) and the perspective used in the sprite makes it look like a zombie crawling on the ground instead of a flying critter.

As for the Renamon comparison however...Never noticed but...it does look similar. Does it look too similar to bother you guys? I mean, I don't want to have to change its face just because it looks too similar to something that isn't even a pokemon...

I'm afraid you will have to change it anyways, because Renamon-looking or not, it's face still doesn't looks much like a Pokémon. For example, it's eyes look too much agressive, while even the meanest official Pokémon had a cute or wacky face or sorts.
Keep on mind that Pokémon is a franchise aimed to little kids and early teens, so the character's designs always keep a "cute" aura and stuff instead of the bloodthirsty maniacs found in Digimon. Thanked by: Baegal

i'm not sure about that description, but at least for me it just looks way too human to actually resemble a pokemon.
I once made a post about some tips on how to design a Pokemon.
One of the most important factors to making something look like a Pokemon is its face. You do that right and the rest will follow.

Where is the researched inspiration behind this design other than being an electric dragon?

its quite a retarded face, to be honest
05-11-2010, 01:44 PM
I dont see how its retarted, I see it as a facial expresion only, nothing more or less

Well, the expression looks much like Sonic's annoying grin, which isn't present on any official Pokémon sprite to begin, indeed.

It would be stupid for a PANDA to evolve into a raccoon looking thing with hair :/ (05-06-2010, 05:45 PM)Chdonga Wrote: Yeah, remove the bangs and just replace it with messy fur. Yeah I saw that now that you mentioned that, but then again, this is a fake pokemon, nothing like an official, so that means that there is an inmense variaty of things you can do to it

I think what bugs me the most is that the mouth is shoved to the side, in anime fashion. Pokemon may be stylized but their normal expressions are still anatomatically sound. if you made it more into a grin on the front of the face, it could look more like a toothy dragon grin and not a smug Sonicesque smirk.
