Oh my GOD, that game was so shitty. Awkward clunky controls, bad level design, glitching and clipping pretty much everywhere, and it has a tendency to crash on both fat and slim PS2s (Between 5 different PS2s of varying use, and 2 copies of the game, only 2 combinations of those actually ran without seizing up at any point). When it didn't crash, it made the PS2 growl like a monstertruck driving up a mountain made of Rice Krispies.

The sandbox element to killing people doesn't outweigh how terrible the presentation was. I beat it once, thanked god that it was over, then never touched it again.

Its the story, It was really boring. They had great Ideas with Fable, Its just it was executed like shit.
But, I'm really looking forward to Fable2, Lets hope they do things right this time around.

Agreed.

More on topic though. It doesn't matter how you slice it on main tv consoles, because even though the Wii prints money and has shitty games that any looser or desperate parent to shut their kid up will buy, and we all hate that fact. It doesn't change that the DS is a handheld but still a system and it's awesome, in every aspect even with it's gimmick.

Wii has a few redeeming titles, and while probably half of the Wii's game library is entirely crappy minigame compilations, the other half isn't too bad. Better titles are coming.

Yes, what system you play a multi-platform game on makes an enormous difference in the experience. Soul Calibur 2, Sonic Heroes, and Shadow the Hedgehog are prime examples, because the Gamecube versions far surpass the versions on other consoles.

Orange Box on the PS3 is a prime example of the terror of some multi-platform games. Damn crappy ports!

I'd like to add my reply to this whole thing, excusing pretty much everything that has been said about the certain games, because I don't really feel like refering back to them at the moment. (that and I'm kinda interesting in purchasing a 360)

warning: the following may have course language and extreme bitchyness and maybe even a bit of fanboyism, viewer discresion is advised

okay, let's start off with the two systems I have, the PS3 and Wii.

first up to bat, Wii. Almost all of my good friends have one, and when ever we're hanging out, it's one of the things we decide to do, hang around and play some Wii. Now, I'm a guy that loves minigames, and that's what the Wii has been coming out with alot of recently, yes you can play half of these with a regular controller, but sometimes you just have to suck it up and use the Wiimote. I love paying games like MKWii, Brawl, Sonic and Mario, even some of the golf games like Super Swing Golf Season 2, and We Love Golf. But, the actual good GAME games, are slim to none on the Wii, and a few of the good games are ports from past systems. And yes, the Wii's wifi/internet is horrible, but I never was one to play games on the internet, though it does kind of anoy me when I want to watch youtube videos on it when my bro is playing the PS3. Anyways, it has to lowest price tag, and is a great multiplayer system, so this gets my vote.

Next, the PS3. I am in love with this system, I love the multiple things you can do on it, I love alot of the games I have for it, and I love the web browser alot. The only problem with it that I have so far, is the lack of exclusive titles that are out right now, like it's getting some pretty sweet games later on, like Tekken 6, Kingdom Hearts 3 (?), etc. Eventually some company is going to take advantage of the PS3's technology, and create games that can only be created on the PS3. Yes, some games on the 360 have been published on multiple disks, but it's much easier just to sit and play it without having to switch the disks. For all we know, the PS3 might just wind up like the PS2, do we all remember how that started out?

Last, but very close to least, the Xbox 360. Now, I don't own one, and I deffinately don't know much about it, but I can say, I have to give Microsoft SOME credit with it's home console. I have to say, some of the games do apeal to my eye (some of them ARE FPSs, some of them aren't), but I'm afraid of purchasing one because of this RRoD, and Microsoft's liability to actually FIX things, so I don't really think it's worth it. So if anyone could tell me how to avoid the RRoD from happening (besides the avoid playing for extended periods of time), I'd probably put my cash on the counter for this console.

Well, that wasn't so bad, feel free to reply to this and comment on how wrong or stupid I am, I probably won't reply for a while.
There is nothing to understand, that's why nothing understands it

The towel trick can make your 360 work for about a week at a time once a RRoD appears.
To be honest I think I 100% AGREE with what you said there.

Well here's a list of Hardcore games exclusively for the Wii:

Battalion Wars 2
Captain Rainbow (Japan only)
Dewy's Adventure
Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors
Endless Ocean
Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
Red Steel
Resident Evil 4
Sonic and the Secret Rings
Soulcalibur Legends
Super Mario Galaxy
Super Paper Mario
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Wario Land: Shake It!
Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure

I guess your right that a lot of them aren't that good. But hey, you can't say that the Wii doesn't have any hardcore games. Just not many good ones.

So guys. What's a hardcore title? I really think those titles are reserved for PC gaming, like the MMORPGs and the RTS games. Then you get more casual with the First Person Shooters, like Call of Duty, and Halo 3.

I don't know, I wouldn't call CoD4 a HARDCORE video game, considering there's people who play Starcraft and Warcraft 3.

well it's very simple really. can a 5 year old play it? if so, it's not hardcore.

As much as it might not sound like it, I am completely serious. If a 5 year old can play well and completely understand the game, there is not enough depth for the game to be considered hardcore. Or the 5 year old is a genius.
