Does desmume allow action replay codes?

There are two methods: play it with an emulator while running Animget (it takes screenshots each 0,10s) and clean them. Try to get some emulator that allows layer control, like Megasis or Gens The second method takes a program to rip straight from the rom, like tahaxan, tile molester and so on. I myself rip using Gens + animget. (07-03-2010, 12:04 PM)redblueyellow Wrote: Does desmume allow action replay codes? It does. I used it for ripping the DS FFCC games

It's how I did both Lunar games.(07-02-2010, 03:04 AM)Skull Wrote: Ummm... But does anyone know how to Rip Sprites from Genesis ?

(I'm trying one for Pokemon Diamond/Pearl, and they only make Desmume crash when I activate them. I've tried them on No$GBA, and they work fine.) They all have different source codes and stuff, it might conflict with something in the reverse-engineering that involves making an emulator. I'm not sure, just a guess. You might try a new version of the emulator. Or you can search for different codes with the same effect, it might work. Desmume can be picky +_+ (07-07-2010, 09:17 AM)geroge86 Wrote: how do you use gens layer control and what version do you needMine is a custom, you got to do it manually :p
I noticed that Random Talking Bush managed to rip Dejiko sprites, having nothing but a .player file from the game. I have a good ammount of doujin games created with Fighter Maker '95 engine (the same used in MHP) where the same technique could be used.
I'm sorry if this question was answered before, since I'm new at the community. Thanks in advance.

Hi. I'm still quite a noob at sprite ripping, so...yeah.
I quickly browsed through the thread and didn't see anything like this brought up, so. (though I could've missed it, I haven't read through every single post) Anyway. Is there a way to rip NDS sprites that are cut off from the screen? Example: http://img830.imageshack.us/img830/5535/rip.png I'm currently using DeSmuME because all other emulators I tried don't work for this game...and its OAM is pretty useless, it's basically just turning off layers.. Is it possible with just the emulator or do I have to use some sort of sprite ripping program? Thanks in advance ^^

oh wow are you JarJar's long lost brother or something? :o
anyway, if the sprite is cut by the screen, I can suggest two basic things: 1-see if the sprite you want is used as whole in the game and then rip from there, or 2-use an especific ripping program or edit some stuff in the rom to grab it. I don't know what programs to use when ripping DS stuff, so this is all I can say.

Desmume has a tile viewer under Tools>View Tiles

For forever I thought the tile viewer was useless (the noob I am) because it gave me a jumble of pixels but I figured how to work it xD' Though it'd be nicer if the sprite just came in one nicely assembled piece..

oh, that's very unlikely to happen. Sprites ripped in programs are always chopped in pieces, and some (or A LOT) of assembly is required to make sheets.

I have a big question I suppose. So, I know the basics of sprite ripping and everything but I'm stumped with this one and none or the research I have done can seem to rectify it so I'm hoping someone here can...
I'm currently trying to rip sprites from Duke Nukem Advance for GBA which I hope to post here when I'm finished and while the menu sprites and cut scenes are no problem its when I get to the actual game where I run into issues... you see the game is an FPS, using a 2.5D engine, the exact one used for DooM 2 on the GBA. So my question is would it be possible to rip the sprites for things like enemies and in-game items or is this currently impossible?

I'd suggest attempting to Tile-Rip the game Duke Nukem Advance...that seems to be easier when it comes to things like that.
Anyway, here's MY question. I need help extracting graphics from a PC game. It comes in DAT files. Mind you this game has some 18+ Elements to it, so be careful. I'd like someone to tell me how to extract the sprites from these files. The game is Brave Soul. Here are some example files. Click Here |
