hahaha oh wow
scott's tech moveset are parodies of either Ryo Sakazaki or Makoto (from SF3)
I'm betting the latter - I knew his second tech attack was supposed to parody someone from SF3, but I couldn't figured out who *rides off on warpstar*

so I actually tried out the demo
all in all I ended up deleting it because the game itself is just a generic beat em up, there is nothing really new or outstanding in it. oh yeah and paul robertson's graphic style.

djanjo can i come play it c
Sure. There's 3 modes and plus the Zombie Horde mode which never get's old. Plenty of replay value, pretty solid controls. Shame there's no online but that'd wreck is 90's Indie Rock charm. In fact everyone can come to my house to play it so they don't have to waste their time/credibility as better pixel artists downloading a Paul Robertson Art themed game.
what 90s indie rock charm
this is scott pilgrim we're talking about
there is absolutely nothing 'indie' or charming about scott pilgrim
'he he hipsters' he he the author is a giant infant
art style is cute, but the story is so generic and pointless and reading it made me cringe
ps i read up to volume 3 and decided that o mally doesnt deserve any money

scott pilgrim isn't really 'indie rock' or hipster at all, later volumes (and the movie) pokes a lot of fun at hipsters tbh
Thinking of you,
wherever you are.
look at that fucking hipster.
Also: yeah i think beat 'em up that's paying homage to retro games (and just about the entire premise of Scott Pilgrim IS simultaneous throwback, rep and tongue-in-cheek humor) wouldn't really want to be "anything new" to the mix. the point is to keep it old-school. and respect.
If you knew this beforehand, that it was paying homage to old games (read the description on PSN)
you have no excuse to be disappointed by its lack of innovation. The only thing that's mold-breaking is the graphics and music, but...yeah, if you're a sir you'll probly hate it (dont worry we're all sires here)
I happen to like it because I'm a fan of the series and even though I don't like Paul Robertson that much, his pixelart suits the game well. It's pretty fluid and crisp compared to the old-school beat 'em ups I've played.
and i fucking love old-school beat 'em ups
if you don't like this game or the demo, you probably need to make some friends IRL
because I think with friends you'll find this game to be pretty entertaining and some friggin great co-op play can be had. its single player is decent, but not AMAZING - but at least you have some incentive to finish the game.
oh and
it's something nice for us PS3 owners to enjoy while we wait for castle crashers

tyvon thinks he's a shitty artist and doesn't deserve the attention he gets, but I think he has a cute style and can animate well.
I only dislike him because you guys don't like him. lol bandwagon
but i gotta respect for him for taking on a project like this. and it's a beat 'em up. of course i'm gonna like it

i bet $10 all he did was drawing the exact same male character he has done for the last 20 years, give it scott pilgrim's eyes and call it a day.

if he actually wanted he'd be awesome, with all his agressive and acid sense of humor(that pic is nothing but a troll). but its like any other over hyped guy on the net, reapeating the exact same gimmick over and over.
