Either use the simple port forwarding program+tutorial that's on the official minecraft forums or log into your router and do it from there.

I just connected to a perpetually running server elsewhere and that worked fine - so I wager it's your side.

I'm kinda glad my saves got wiped. I like the new world i'm building.
Working on an underground garden atm. Took me a while to realise how to get grass to grow underground though.

Castaway 2

After escaping the black asian-chasing man, Angie decides to sail with world's most incompetent explorers. The four brave adventurers become distracted by the scenery and get lost. After a humorous series of bad decisions, Angie decides to sail off on her own without a compass. The other three adventurers reach land first, and make a memorial in her honor.

Angie gets redstone from a dungeon to make a compass and reaches land, only to find out that everyone else thought she was dead. She sees her own memorial, is called a zombie, and is once again harrassed by the polygamist black man.

(That actually could've gone a lot worse. "hurrhurp")
